Tire choice is always a loaded question. Without endorsing a particular company I would say you need something like a "grid iron" and "impact" in soft early in the season and then medium compound in the hotter months. If I had to just choose one tire to run all the time at DB it would be Impacts but like I said there is more opinions on this then you can count.

First of all, not sponsored. I choose run Suppressors & Lockdowns when it's damp or tacky and the traction level is high and then I switch to Blockades when things start to dry out. Early in the year I run the X4 compound and switch to X3 when the temperature starts getting into the 70's.

I like Mike's suggestions as well. If you had to buy only one type of tire you could get medium compound Blockades or Impacts and they would work in any condition year-round here.

Default Engine Break In

What do a lot of the dirt burners do for engine break in? I would prefer a method with less tuning since I don't have much experience in tuning yet. Also, I think something for a novice would be best for me. Thanks.

There is no real short cut or novice version of the break in process. I would recommend taking a look at the engine break in thread here on rc tech.

Default AVC.. Illegal?

Someone at Checkered Flag Hobby told me Spektrum's AVC receivers were illegal at StL Dirt Burners because the club followed ROAR guidelines. Is this true? If not, is it generally considered good sportsmanship to not use these receivers?

Thanks,

Paul Baca
