Hi Guys,
Trouble we are running into is zoning and what it will take to bring a building up to code. Seems the County does not know what to do with an indoor RC track. There is a reason why there is not one county RC facility between Collier and Lee, as they make it next to impossible.
With that being said the search continues for a building already up to code. Many have suggested opening a track and calling it a club or have memberships and say it is private. That is NOT the way to go about it. We don't want to invest a lot of money only to find out they will be closing us down again.
On a happier note, we are having an RC garage sale in Golden Gate on Sat Feb 28. Location is 840 2nd St NW off of GG BLVD...starts at 8am. I am selling ALL of my collectible RC cars, and a TON (TON of gear. Radio's, bodies, chargers, motors, tires etc........see you there!

Thank you for the update! Happy to hear that you are indeed looking for another location! Just a thought; I know nothing about the rules but is the issue having the tracks indoors? Could it be possible to have outdoor tracks with an indoor hobby shop? Just thinking aloud..... Looking forward to your return to the studio! (where ever it may be)

Evidently the county doesn't actually know how to zone an indoor RC track?
Well, considering the amount of batteries involved, they could zone it like a Radio Shack store.

For the interim- anyone interested in doing some on-road/drifting?
I found huge unused store structure with smooth hard flooring, no one cares if you go there. Could setup a temp track too ( i have a set of 36 corner markers & 6 cones). Would be great for afternoons and evenings this time of year, cuz it has a roof but no walls.

Most of the guys that used to run there are running at 301 new indoor carpet facility. The have there first club race yesterday. And it was a good turn out from what I heard.
You can find them in FB under 301 Raceway & Hobby,. Or here in the Florida forum.
