Just wonder if anyone tried the Spec R motor mount and/or the floating steering? Does it makes any difference in terms of steering?

Pinion Spur combo for 13.5 Blinky class
Run my new '16 T4 for the first time yesterday. Felt great! First adjustment needed - pinion.
What max pinion size fits with standard 84T / 48P spur? I will be running 13.5T blinky class on carpet and from what I read need to target FDR around 4. So, I was thinking need options maybe for FDR 3.7 - 4.3 to try. From very limited pinions I had available, I tried pinion 27T with 84T spur which gives FDR 5.9. Was way too short geared.
I'm thinking I could get 78T spur from Xray, smallest they have for 48P. Then 34, 37 and 40 T pinions which would give me following options:
pinion spur FDR
23 84 6,94
40 84 3,99
37 84 4,31
34 84 4,69
40 78 3,71
37 78 4,01
34 78 4,36
But I'm not sure if those combos are physically possible. Any idea? If I had to I can switch to 64P of course.

I think it would be best to switch to 64P. In 13.5 blinky TC, I usually run around a 4.7 ratio. You could start with a 104 spur and a 42 or 43 pinion. That should get you close.

For pinions, any brand pinions giving trouble for the shaft too long on them

Panaracer definitely fits.

So, simplest would be just to start with stock spur and 34 pinion. But to have some adjustment options I ordered pinion from 31 to 36 and 78 spur. This should give me FDR from 4.1 to 5.1. So, I' m sticking with 48p for now. Will see.

Thanks. Looks like the same ration can be achieved while sticking to 48p. I did a little more reading myself and understood how to convert from 48p to 64p and basically 104/64p is the same diameter as 78/48p. 42/64p => 31/48p. By measuring motor to spur distances it looks like 34/48p is bigest pinion that fits with stock 84t spur. And interestingly enough 34/84 gives ratio of 4.69.

Hey Maris,
Glad you found something that works for you. I think Sam was suggesting 64P since you run on carpet and debris isn't really a concern, also using 64P allows you to fine-tune your FDR a little better than 48P does.
Either way, if you're comfortable with 48P and it seems you've done your homework on everything, then you'll be fine to start out with that.

Leespeed and Panaracer fit perfectly.
Unfortunately, xenon doesn't
you could also try spec r as they fit as well as some hpi.
