Default Yea, I agree...

but is Losi discontinuing it? I don't see it listed on the Horizon website anymore. I need something to have fun on the street with a Novak GTB and 5.5.

For a street basher I would get a tub chassis of somekind. It should turn out to be more durable.

Nice thing with Losi for sure is that they tend to make support cars for quite awhile after the car has been discontinued. I haven't heard of anything in regards to the XXXS being scrapped though.

How about an old TC3 rtr or even the TC4 rtr? Tub chassis is definitely a good idea.

a tc3/4 is ok, i would stay away from low level tamiya unless a tbo2 or ta05, otherwise drivetrain cant handle a novak gtb/5.5
probably tc3/4 or xxxs is best bet

yes i would have to agree with the TC3/4
or if you could get an xray for a good second hand price would also be good.

I say go with the TC4, then later you can always upgrade with the FT conversion kit if you want to race it.

Default One thing I like about the XXX-S is that the spur gear...

is covered and the motor bearing as well. I had a TC3 and I was always going through spur gears. Now all I need is cvd boots and shock socks. That should keep most of the dirt out.

I wish Losi would make some improvments on the car though. Better bumper, droop system, mid roll center on the front shock tower, JRX-S shocks, some LVds, revised chassis for the new batteries and I would be back to racing it. Anyone know if IB 3800 stick packs will fit in it?

i think the tc3 and 4 are great cars, but of course i would say that i have had good results with the rs4 rally.(pictured at left) the cars higher ground clearance and longer shocks make it great with just about any surface. whereas a lower car might scrape the chassis or get hung up on grass.
its really durable too.
