Quetion about batteries
can a 9.6V transmitter battery be modified to a 7.2V propulsion battery?
The elements are Sanyo KR-1700SCE.
Are these elements able to handle such high discharge currents as demanded by the engine, or would they burn?

do you mean the small 9v batteries like the ones used in smoke detectors?
if so, then no. it would overheat (if it ran at all)

No, he's saying that he has an 8 cell transmitter pack that he wants to cut down to 6 cells and use as a pack for his car.
Now, I'm not exactly sure what the amp rating was on the KR-1700s, but I think it was 15 or 20 amps max. This would make it an ok battery for minis, but not with 1/10 scale and 540 motors.
