Default Team Power Radon Pro Esc

Hi,

Not sure is this thread is being created to discussion about the said ESC. If yes, appreciate if you can point me there.

I am try to finding more information on how to setup the ESC setting to suit certain motor brand and how to maximise the potential of the ESC for low to meduim traction track.

I also posted this question to their facebook page but no respond so far.

I started a thread on this ESC a few month's back but I received hardly any response. I know somethings about setting up a Radon esc. What do you want to know and I don't proclaim to be an expert but I do know somethings. What are you working with motor wise and is it blinky or boost?

Ask in the powers motor thread, most of the team checks that and will give you killer setups

Jayl this not a challenge but I looked 3 page of the team thread and I didn't see that Team Powers had a team section? There has been very little while information on the Radon ESC. It took me a lot of testing to make it have a power band and to not feel like a on off switch. Let alone get good consistent brakes. I will take all the help I can get. I have a friend one of the best in the area give up on the Radon because TP direct didn't know how to adjust this ESC. Just sayin . if you have something give it up I have tried for 3 month's. It is a backup now.

James question in blinky I have been running my punch rate a at 10 and b at 30 and a switch point at 20% to get more of a power band. What does.30/and 30/with a switch point at 1% do for that midrange power that is needed for my track.I bought this ESC when they first came out had little sucsess with consistent laps.with it the brakes seem unpredictable at times and the lack of a powerband when I first setup the sac. I run drag brake .and they were a crap shoot every lap.in the hard braking zone is a and b rate on the brakes make a difference using drag brake. I use my ESC for gt3/USGT 21.5 those 21.5 motors are different from a 17.5 they lack power and are a more of momentum racing then point and shoot like 17.5/or 13.5 so mid band power is at premium racing 21.5 motors
Thank you for the help I have tried to find someone to bounce ideas off of about the Radon but I was the only one I new that has one.

The setup I posted will have the most punch possible with our esc. For us it is working well in 13.5, 17.5, and 21.5. Only thing we change is drag brake between the classes.

Vivo what firmware are you using that has trouble with brake? Also is your brake force setting on 100%? sometimes it can cause a delay in brakes. Having brake punch rate A & B at 20/20 can also cause delay. The delay is from the rotor being too weak to respond to the strong brake force. Please try 87.5% and turning down brake punch rates to 15/15 or 10/10. if you need more brake change initial brake setting higher.

Default My esc setup

Hi All,

Thx for the respond. Here is my esc setup. Currently i am running 13.5T class with TP motor and Orca motor. The problem is I dont get the cosistency in braking point and punch out. This made my laptime not consistent. I also am figuring out what are all those setting mean and what effect if i change it lower or higher. This is quite frustrating to me. I like the feeling of esc respond is just not giving me the consistency i want compare to other brand of esc in use before.

Software version no:1.4 runing stock 13.5T

TH2: Punch Rate B: 15

T11: TB off slope: not sure how to adjust this setting
T12: Turbo K LVL: not sure how to adjust this setting
T13: Turbo T LVL: not sure how to adjust this setting

James I can't get to my car to check what firmware that is in the ESC till Friday night, but it is the original firmware that came in the ESC. I will reprogram to the settings you have posted. This is the most and best information I have gotten on this ESC. I was planning on trying it in 17.5 so we will see.

These brake settings appear to work with an Awesomatix on asphalt. Brake throw in radio was 80%. I cannot explain why this works, but it does (race tested)

B1 0
B2 0
B3 100
B4 20
B5 20
B6 99%
B7 linear

T10: turbo on rate controls how quickly the turbo is applied.
T11: turbo off rate. controls how quickly turbo is turned off, I always run instant off.
T12: turbo K LVL. Controls how quickly your car accelerates.
T12: turbo T LVL. controls the top speed of your car. Going higher increases top speed a lot.

Please try the brake setting I have posted below. This takes away the brake delay.

Here is a setup for Boosted 13.5.

Radon pro(V1.4 program)+ actinium 13.5t
TH1: Punch Rate A: 15
TH2: Punch Rate B: 20
TH3: TH SW Point: 50%
TH4: Slope: Linear

B1: Initial brake: 40%
B2: Drag Brake: 5%
B3: Brake Force: 87.5%
B4: Brake A: 10
B5: Brake B: 10

Actinium 13.5, motor timing at -1 position, 12.5mm roar rotor,
Gear ration: 6.4 (medium track)

The firmware that comes with the esc has changed over time. They are always shipped with our latest firmware. If the esc is old you might have 1.0 firmware and need to change to the 1.1 roar firmware. 1.1 is much better for spec racing.

James can that firmware be installed using a HW USB interface cable or does it require a TP USB cable?

The firmware can only be changed with the USB link that came with the ESC. I personally have never tried the HW USB link(don't have one to try) but I have heard that it will not work.
