What aluminum is the Tamiya made from and is there a different difference in weight?

Having snapped a rear CVD shaft, am sure Tamiya ones not made from 7075
And the dude is based in Taiwan. Am sure it's easier for him to get ARC parts than it is Tamiya parts.

Great to see people experiment a bit

Hi guys,

I have got my hands on a nice TB Evo 6 black Edition. Only run one race weekend.

my plans is to run in the stock class with 21.5 turn motors. But im not quite sure about the gearing and the size of spur. for a small indoor track with mostly 180 degree turns. is it better to go large spur or small spur? Or does really matter when the total gearing is the same?

With a 21.5 turn motor a FDR of 3.5 - 4.0 should be a good point to start with.

I use mine with 21.5 on a small/med carpet track, this is what I had to go through. The biggest pinion I had on hand was a 47 so I used it as a reference point:

64 pitch:
-78 spur: 47 pinion was too small to mesh
-86 spur: 47 fits at FDR of 4.57, need bigger pinions
-96 spur: 47 fits at FDR of 5.1, not useful
48 pitch:
66 spur: ran a 36 pinion at 4.58, worked fine

Ended up running 86 tooth 64 pitch with buying a few larger pinions.

Thanks a lot

The previous owner actually had the motormount machined out so it could get closer to the really small spurs.

Looks like Exo-Six conversions are updated and back in stock for people who yearn to spend and build (like me).

Thanks!
Love the Mercedes SLS AMG too.
When i get the new TB Evo 7 its shell will be the new AMG GT3 I have already here lying around...

That's one of the most beautiful shells Tamiya ever made (Ferrari F599XX is another one).

Maybe i paint it in this hot AMG green...

Yes, I CAN NOT wait for the "7" to arrive in October - already have a rabbit stash of cash for it.

Haven't decided as to which body though... but really, who am I kidding, it will probably be another VW.

Hi guys, with "7" coming October, I just wonder if there will still be a chance for Exotek to produce the aluminium upper case for Exo 6 gear box or not.
