Well the rings are useless to me, I need the sticker. I have plenty of rings. I have one ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.. I just need a BOSS ring now to defeat the BOSS level..

Here's an observation: The new Boss motor comes with a vented endbell on the pinion side only, the sensor side has the same non-vented endbell as the original. However, the rules on the USVTA site state that the Novak "#5925 Ballistic 540 Vented Endbells and Bearing Racing Upgrade Kit" is a legal modification. So to get vented endbells on both ends of the Boss motor you can install the #5925 kit (well part of it). Or you could just use the #S5928 Vulcan/Ballistic Vented Back Endbell since it is the same part as the one in the upgrade kit

I will just cut it. I'm gonna use a hole punch to punch out a hole on the round side of the vent hole and then use scissors to cut the sides out. Is it really that cost effective for novak to not include a punched insulator? $25 is a lot not not include something that may cost them a few pennies if that..

None of the previous versions of the Novak Premium (vented endbell) motor have come with the insulator cut out. It appears to be a new thing with the introduction of the Vulcan and Boss motors. I have run several examples of these motors in 17.5, 13.5 and mod and they all tend to run about 5-10 degrees cooler than non-vented versions. If there is any difference in cooling on the ones with the cut insulator I believe it would be minimal as there is plenty of room between the stator and insulator for air flow. The best reason to cut the insulator would be that it looks better

Anyway, if you are that worried about airflow you'll need to install the vented back endbell also, and that's more than a few pennies.

The kit that I purchased (#5925) came with both the vented front and rear. I posted pictures above of it installed on my ballistic.

That's right, the upgrade kit comes with both vented endbells. The Boss motor, however, comes only with the one on the pinion side. The point of my post (#20) was since the upgrade kit is legal, some will want to install the vented back endbell on their new Boss 25.5 motors.

Typical of novak to include the vented rear in the upgrade kit but not on the BOSS motor. Its never good enough for Novak to simply make things uniform, they have to squeeze ever penny out of you.. Anyways, I won't be purchasing the BOSS motor. Ill just buy the upgrade kit instead of upgrading my motor only to have to upgrade it again because its not vented in the rear..

Now can someone from Novak make this right and help me find a black or red ring and the VTA BOSS sticker? Or am I asking for too much here?

You don't need a Boss motor. The rotor and stator are the same as the Ballistic. The only advantage to the Boss is it possibly running cooler due to the vents. Anyone that thinks they need the additional vents in the back endbell to be competitive is fooling themselves. That being said, many will use it anyway just because it looks cool

EEEEEEEEXACTLY! Also, because it runs cooler and a cooler motor runs better, even if its just 10 degrees..
