MI5 DIY Battery Brace And Balance Setup
Evening all
I have just recently started racing again after a 4 year break, so last week i built my new MI5, very impressed with the kit, until i came to securing the lipo. i never have liked tape so after a bit of thought i came up with the following brace.
ill let the pictures do the talking, all in all its cost me less than £5 to make, if it holds out im going to get a carbon fibre copy made.
and my custom pivot balance bitty bobs,
and all ready for my first race day

What size screws did you use?

that may effect flex of the chassis ,thats why very few people use that type of brace...

team haus
Just an FYI
The team Haus battery holder will need the Schuie carbon fiber battery holders (I believe part num U4340).
Looks like it will work pretty well but waiting on parts to come in.
Side note my carpet season has started right of the bat the car is awesome on med to high bite traction.
Ultra high traction is a scenario all brands will have problems dealing with....
A ton of different methods to deal with it.
Don't think there are a lot of people lucky enough to get to a track with Ultra traction.
I am trying to find some spare time to post up a setup sheet...17.5 stock, Subura type C (I just like it).
Basics.
Shocks
350 xray shock oil Front and rear (or 450 as traction comes up)
Green springs - shocks not vented and almost zero rebound --yes it can be done. Used motor shims under oring when building
The car setup is super agile but predictable...very easy to drive...for my driving style of course.

I got the V2 kingpins. Can they go into the older hubs?

Bit of a strange question for y'all.... Could someone accurately measure the thickness (height) of the hex on the inner arm mount pivot balls?
Even better would be overall pivot ball height and ball diameter in addition to the hex height!
It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

why the cut arms?
I would think that would create too much grip on high traction.
did you notice an improvement with the arms cut?
was thinking of cutting the arms also...but have been holding back.
thanks
