Make the linkage mechanically correct. Cut it to a shorter length if you must. (but first make sure all parts are installed in the correct positions and orientations, of course, since cutting can't be reversed.) Adjusting the trim is just for day-to-day corrections as the linkage changes length due to thermal expansion, or to compensate for wear-and-tear on the steering system as the vehicle ages.

Just a followup from my site. I indeed hat to shorten the link by around 3-4 mm to get a correct steering throw. Everything is working ok now.

Do they make a ball diff for this? I know Durango has one for the other vehicles, but not sure if it fits the DETC.

Why would you want a ball diff? If the gear diff has plastic-composite gears and aluminum outdrives, a ball diff won't weigh any less. Aside from weight, the only other performance difference between ball diffs and gear diffs is the nature of the limited-slip action -- ball diffs have a fixed amount of limited-slip action that depends on the tightness of the thrust spring, regardless of the difference in speed between the two outdrives, whereas the limited-slip action in gear diffs increases as the difference in speed between the two outdrives increases. Whether one or the other is more suitable for your specific car, I have no idea, but the industry as a whole is moving to gear diffs, presumably because they're more effective now that the weight penalty has been resolved.

Hi Guys,
Just bought myself a DETC410, got it at an insane price at my local hobby shop.
I've got a few questions before I start the build. I've read through the forum and what I've picked up is the following.
1. Replace front spool with gear diff - Is this the same gear diff as the rear 1? - TDR210041
2. Swop front driveshafts & outdrives with steel ones? - TDR310440 & TDR310431
3. Glue in my bumper popouts?
4. Is the Aluminum Servo Mounts needed?
5. Should I replace the plastic parts with the new V2 Type B parts(Susp Arms,Steering Blocks & Hubs, Caster Blocks)?
6. Is there any build tips?
Thanks Guys

2. If I remember correctly there are special outdrives that go with the gear diff when you use it in the front. Not sure what the part # is.
3. If you need more support then glue them for sure, because they will work their way out. I took mine out and left them out.
4. I would definitely get the aluminum servo mounts. The other plastic ones strip out.
5. If you can upgrade to the V2 parts, then do so.

1. If you want more steering than use a gear diff in front. Otherwise the spool will work. Yes it is the same gear diff as the rear.

1 more thing, should I replace the plastic space with Aluminium?

I've finished most of the build, would you guys use thread lock on all screws going in aluminium parts?
Or just some? bottom of bulkhead, etc?

Discontinued?
Hi, does anyone know if the car has been discontinued? Prices have suddenly dropped in retailers and the kit is showing as unavailable on durango website?
#1303
Rumor has it Durango is going under. Travis Amezcua left the company, and most cars are discontinued, most notably the 1/8 scale car just before the worlds. It doesn't look that great for them.

Hi Guys
Should the steering links and front wheel have so much slop(play) in them?
