I did some extra testing with the TT-02 and my fastest laptim improved with 0.1s with a fastest laptime of 11.940s.
Used softer damper oil and other tires.
Think i can go even faster cause this was done with batteries i'm using for practice, my other batteries give me more power.
This has been proven with my TRF418, i gained about 0.3seconds in my fastest lap.

Suspension Setup?
I'm running a TT02 with a pile of Hop-Ups. Aluminum suspension, oil shocks, aluminum steering linkage, driveshaft, universal axles, uprights, etc.
3.9 FDR (60t spur, 40t pinion).
21.5 turn Speed Passion VTA class.
2.5 degree rear toe-in.
1.0 (or a little less) degree front toe-out.
0.5 degree front negative camber.
100,000 weight front diff oil, 2000 rear.
Cornering issues.
Good turn initiation, followed by savage under-steer.
Suggestions?
General advice on setup welcome.

Good question long guy.
The type s definetly has more significant changes with the addition of the different suspension arms, carbon damper stays, etc, plus most of the type r specs.
To me it seems like an in between step between the stock and the type s but it does rather complicate the lineup - will be interesting to see the price difference.
I think I also see alloy uprights in the rear...
I like the look of everything else - bodies for the drift kits, the DT03 truck, even the TT02 truck will be a cool option yet still keeping everything on the TT basic platform. I hope the TT truck has some sort of long suspension travel setup that I can adopt for rally!
I also hope they do one of those truck kits like the DT03T for the TT with the wide wheel setup...

These pics also confirm 3degree alloy rear uprights for the type r, high speed gear set, medium narrow tyres and again the smaller / metal dogbone /gearbox out drive setup...
Still confused as to where the type s and r sit in the lineup.

I want to see pictures of the TT02 carbon towers, I've seen the TT02S ones but I have been told there are some for the std TT02.

Reason I'm posting mainly, is because I followed your guide online while getting into touring cars (thanks btw - I wouldn't have gotten into RC without it to be honest) and have a few questions about my TT-02 builds. Have 3 different ones (2 regulars and one D), and all the hop ups.
1) It will be run in soda treated parking lots. How should I set up the damper oil, springs and rebound? I have the tamiya spring set, and some HPI silvers that are popular. I also have the short TRFs, kit oil shocks, and even some aluminum M-chassis dampers I could put on there (and spring set), which lead to the next question.
2) It's been mentioned to build the kit at rally height so that the spacers to not contribute to breaking pieces on the front end. Would one then need to use m-chassis dampers to get back down to normal TC ride height?
3) Should I lock the front like a spool, or run the thick oil for these racing conditions? I have the locking pin part mentioned on your site. Pretty sure everyone runs a spool out here. No carpet anywhere. Mostly Xrays and TC6s on the track.
People generally run 5.5-6.5mm for the two locations where they set it up every week. Track is decent sized but not huge. People run around a 3.6-3.8 FDR in VTA if that's any help.

Just finished my TT02 S-Spec kit. I set it up for VTA 25.5 but have not had it to the track yet.
Small changes I made from the kit:
Aluminum Steering Arms and middle connector
Aluminum center shaft
High Speed Gear Set (75/50 currently but yet to test at track)
Gear cover opened up to clear the 50t pinion
Shocks length set to 60mm front and 59mm rear. To do that I used 2mm front internal shock spacers and 2.5mm internal rear.
That gives rebound stroke about 2mm in rear and 3mm in front.
Moved rear shocks to outer lower mounting hole (otherwise car was too high even with no spring spacer)
2mm spring spacers front and rear gives me about 5mm ride height with VTA tires
I shortened the wheelbase at the back by moving the 3mm spacer (just to fit my existing body)
I shimmed to front and rear lower a-arms with some .2mm shims to take up play.
As a basic setup I put 1.5 camber all around. 1mm toe out in front.
I just kind of guessed based on how I have my 419 and 417 setup. I may get to run at the track this weekend.

I did build my TT-02 as a rally and used those TRF mini dampers with the TRF touring car short spring set.
The length of my dampers was 57,5mm at the front and 58,5mm at the rear.
I think the front had an inner spacer of 1mm and 0,5mm for the rear.
But all this was used with the standard suspension and not the suspension of the type-s (TB evo IV suspension arms)
At the end (cause i sold the car last week) i used TT-01 ball diffs at the front and rear, i prefer this over the standard geardiffs.
