What about 2024? Just heavier?
2024 is between 6061 and 7075. I bet it would be fine for most. I have a suspicion that 90% of the parts marketed as 7075 are actually 2024 or 6061.

Default New R2

Hi Guys,
what do you find about the flex off new R2 ?
Looks like a lot more than the R1.

Regards,
Jeremy

You mean the "Coming Soon" R2?

You have one already or are you basing that off the specs on the website?

I don't see a whole lot in here that I absolutely need. In fact, I can't tell what's actually new and what is standard marketing speak.

High strength and high precision anodized alloy parts for added durability and style
- Ultra narrow chassis design with USA high quality Carbon Graphite 2.25mm main chassis
- 2.0mm USA high quality upper deck and 3.0mm shock towers.
- Slimmer transmission/motor mount components and design for improved handling and smoothness
- Dual bellcrank steering for precise cornering performance
- Front/Rear Suspension Arm mounts are adjustable for a variety of fine tunings for different track conditions
- Lightweight and super smooth rear HD gear differential is included
- Enhanced acceleration from the use of lightest transmission components
- Front/Rear Suspension system with carbon reinforced plastic parts
- Improved material and stronger plastic parts(with carbon)
- Lightweight and anodized alloy turnbuckles and ball studs
- All new big bore oil shocks for best performance
- Balanced chassis design
- Internal gear reatio 1:1.9

Shorter fatter shocks, one sided motor/layshaft and mismatched alloys? Lol. Interesting

I wonder if that motor mount is compatible with s2 chassis. Maybe ill work off an s2 for my aluminum one.

Those shocks would prob be a nice upgrade for s2 users. Never had complaints about the r1 motormount.

Interesting part is the R1 is so similar to an Xray (in my eyes) and these particular pieces make me think Yokomo.

But If I can bolt my R1 stuff onto a narrower chassis and only have/had to change a motor mount then Im in for some extra pieces.

Looks really nice. Would be tempted if the price is right.

The new chassis looks much better than the old one. The old one was a noodle with the big cutouts. I'm really diggin the single sided layshaft mount. I'll have to see about retrofitting one to my d06.

the new chassis plate appears to be the original option chassis but with a few extra holes for the adjustable centre support. Should be good. I have the option chassis, r1 topdeck, and shock towers on my s1 17.5 touring car. Works awesome!! Super flexy though. Especially compared to my r1 usgt car.
I plan to get the r2 as soon as possible. Once I do, I'll be switching the option chassis plate to the usgt car. If the new motor mount bolts to the older chassis I'll be getting it as well.
I'm excited to see how much they have improved the plastics. It would be nice if the ball cups were improved as well so we didn't have to switch to the tamiya ones.
I'm looking forward to seeing this car in person.

Ill prob end up with one too. Too bad they didn't put it out sooner, I'd have one for our big race... ah well. Gonna spend on a few upgrades/ replacments for my prospec. Car has been kicking ass in stock with my mod setup and rotates super nice in mod.
Still hoping to find aluminum local would there be 3-5 people who.would want one?

I'd consider an aluminum chassis but It would depend on cost and shipping. And I'd like to see detailed pictures of the final product.

Same here - if cost and shipping could run average with other chassis's ID be in for sure.
