Thanks guys, I'll have another look at it. The instructions indeed show the balls facing forward but it also shows a regular size servo. With this little servo I managed to use at least one of the original servo mounts but if I flip the balls I will have to drill a few new holes to move the mounts back a bit. One of them might end up too close or interfering with the servo saver cut-out.

I don't think it's really fast enough for a 1/12 pan car but I mention it because it's a direct fit replacement for the Traxxas 2065 servos that are used in the 1/10th Summit for shifting the transmission and locking the diffs. It has the same torque as the Traxxas 2065 but is twice the speed. It has metal gears and works great in the Summit. (either the 211 or 212 will work fine) They don't advertise them as being waterproof but I get my Summit pretty wet and it's holding up sofar.

I'm still running a Turnigy TGY-212DMH. It has been in the car since new and has never been replaced. It's been hammered a bit but is holding up. It isn't as powerful as some of the other options but it is stronger than my servo saver and it's lightning quick. It also uses a regular size Futaba 25 spline drive.

It's been quite some time since the team posted a setup for people to try so I figured I would post what several of us have been running as of late for people try. This is the setup we most recently ran on a high speed tight track at the Hudy Race in St. Louis. If your track is on the new CRC Black Carpet and you are looking for something that reacts quickly, especially through the tighter sections of the track I would strongly recommend trying this.
Front:
.45 front springs
.25-.5mm front droop
5degree castor blocks
2 shims back
.25deg camber
2.5mm roll center shim
Losi Smart Diff Grease on the kingpins
Brass pivot balls
Ballstuds on steering knuckles shimmed up 2.5mm
(Make sure that the turnbuckles are level and that they are parallel to the front of the chassis or have a slight forward sweep)
166mm front width
CRC Purple Stripe - 39.5-40mm
Rear:
35wt shock oil
AE blue or NEW crc purple center spring
.50mm of spacing under the front side link
.50 CRC side springs - outboard position
2mm pod up-travel
15,000wt diff fluid in the tubes (can use 1 tube of 10k and 1 tube of 20k as an option)
172mm rear width
CRC Purple Stripe - 40-40.5mm
CRC Audi R8 Body in 17.5
CRC Lola Body in 13.5
Option Parts:
New CRC LCG Rear Pod
New CRC Double Clamping Hub
New CRC Dampener Tube Ballstuds
If anyone has any questions about this setup I would be more then willing to answer, just let me know either on here or on Facebook.

I'm just going to move the servo back a bit and use both mounts I think.

Please provide details around the .5mm shim under the front link mount. Does this involve rear-steer?

That would be correct. It's not going to give you more steering but it will help the car get through the corner a little easier. Some people have been running even larger shims but I think the car has enough rotation that by adding .5mm we are able to keep a very neutral feel.

Kave,
Did you use a roll center shim?
