It should give the shock less rebound making it slower to react

Leaving the shock bladder foams out
was an idea a friend got to make the short body shock feel softer all through the compression range.

Don't know exactly how much the air inside the bladder compresses but the shock feels a bit softer than another similar shock with the foam in place.

We are very pleased with how the shock work.

Has anybody else experimented with this?

I found that the foam chunks in the SD shocks gave a very hard, unnatural rebound all the time which i didnt like, so I took them out.

I always leave the little foam out too.

It gives the shocks a more linear feel.

Default Just curious???

I saw on the Yokomo USA web site that Masami just won a race at Yatabe Arena (Tsukuba, JAPAN) on April 11th.

I'm curious to know why he would race the SDW rather than the BD??? Also, was Super Stock the only class? I don't recall ever reading that Masami races in the stock class (Super Stock or other)???

The BD isn't a replacement for the shaft drive, just another option. If Masami raced in Super Stock then he probably chose the shaft drive transmission as it would be more effective in terms of acceleration and efficency.

I heard that Masami likes the SDW with stock motors, it has more "rip" with stock motors. The BD is more to his liking in Mod because it is more stable. I believe that Super Stock classs are pro drivers using stock motors and racing more on driving skills rather than HP. I believe this class is also 8 minutes, so the shaft car should be more efficient.
