Who plans on moving over to the TCX when it comes out? Any specific features that make the TCX a "must have" for you?

I'm in for one. Lipo chassis, narrow bulk heads, double steering cranks and a chassis with more flex are the major things I like.

Whats the largest battery dims for a lipo pack to fit in a Cyclone TC with the HBS67695 Lipo Battery upper deck installed? I don't really want to grind anything.

This is the upper deck...

What do you guys do to secure your lipo to the TC? I am converting my cyclone S to a TC, already have most of the important parts, including the upper and main carbon chassis. Before I converted to the carbon chassis, my lipo had a place to sit (in the plastic tub) but now, I have to use battery tape! I run three batteries, and am sick of having to retape them! The exotech chassis is nice and all, but at almost $100 I would rather sell my roller and add $100 to get a TC-X preorder!

P.S. Tony Vega, I will take measurements when I get home, I have the lipo upper deck, and an oversize 2s lipo, Fits like a glove, but as stated above it needs to be strapped down!

Default Gearing questions

Hey guys, I have a question about gearing my car. I just picked it up and I'm about ready to run it for the first time. But I have no 64 pitch gears, so I'm about to order some. I just wanna make sure I buy the correct size pinion gears (and maybe a spur gear) so I'm not wasting money. I headed over to HB's site and seen that Barry Baker used a 64p 108 spur and a 37t pinion for a FDR of 6.33 with a 13.5 brushless motor for the KO Grand Prix 2009.

I will be running 13.5 as well so I am guessing I can just buy this spur and pinion and be good to go? I want to be able to play around with a few different size pinion gears incase my motor gets hot while racing. I don't know if 37t is on the high end or low end or in the middle tooth wise.

Would any of you Cyclone TC regulars help me out? What FDR should I be shooting for and what size gears can I get away with in the stock motor mount?

I'm not sure if this info will help or is needed, but we run on a med to high grip asphalt track that varies from technical to flowing depending on how the track directors feel like laying it out that Sunday. It measures 120' x 80' with a full 120' straight.

To anyone who has a answer for me, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

Tony

I want run with 4,5T motor, 108T spur is too small...
thanks!

On the stock motor mount you can fit 27T - 42T pinions with a 108T spur.

Your gearing is going to be severely affected by your speedo and it's settings. Not to mention, what 13.5 motor you're running. Some like a lot more or a lot less gear than others. Some are geared down in the 5's while others are up in the 8's.

are you sure?
because brushless motor mount is 2mm high, 2+2=4mm for all Diameter of spur gear...108T is 43,3mm, 111T is 44,7mm, but the maximum diameter of spur(43,3 + 4mm) is 47,3mm
or not?
