To answer some other questions people had earlier:

a) They do check room keys pretty heavily to get into the tower. Each of us had to have a key on us to get to our room. I know people like cram 3-4 people into the rooms, so if you do, expect to pay the additional person fee to get a key (or have very limited access to your room as a result).
They checked us everytime we went to the room at night

b) The Tower at the Stardust (not the villas, they suck) seems closest to the ballroom, and is also where the majority of the rooms are.

The rooms are big and comfortable. You will have easy access to the ball room from the tower

The Villa rooms are nasty looking.

c) There is a limited amount of free guest parking outdoors (no parking structure that I can find) as well as valet. I haven't had a problem finding a spot.
There is a TON of parking!!

For 24 hour food, I recommend the Surf Buffet at the Boardwalk, about a 25 minute walk from here or a short cab ride. They have a $9 buffet that goes all night long, only place on the strip. If you want to spend more and eat during regular hours, we usually hit the Spice Market Buffet at the Aladdin, it's about $25-30 but it's some of the best food anywhere, all in buffet form. And of course you will get a couple of Stardust buffets with your race entry.
We went to the RIO for dinner to a seafood buffet. about 40 bucks for all you can eat Lobster and crablegs.

They had just about EVERYTHING. Pasta Mexican food, It was awesome!

They lost money on us last night

You think they'll be able to handle TWO Boomers?

I'm still planning on attending - we're making reservations this week.

Congrats on being able to go.

We are working on the track size this week.
We were just there Monday and Tuesday taking measurements of EVERYTHING.

From what I was told the track will be about the size of Snowbirds. It just works out that way with the size of the carpet rolls and the sheets of ply-wood. Im not 100% sure on the exact size.

From what I saw of snowbirds (only from a their webcam) the room used there was smaller compared to the room at the startdust. I would expect to see a track layout that is for more speed than tighter infield. Also the fact that there will be a handout motor changes things also. (forgive me, total newbe talking here)

If anything, I would love to see a track like the IFMAR 2004. Ok not that big but something like it.
