Who is a great driver and he puts me a lap down
With it lmao
sooo now I know that car is GOOD maybe it should be the primary car lol

Then I find out the guy behind me is running a tekin RS pro ESC
And a 25.5 with no ring on it and to be honest it got in my head
The entire race I was so thinking that this sucks
I spend all this time and effort to be legal And this guy is like way faster now
Then in qualifying that I couldn't even focus on my own car ?.

Guess I will have to sit in on tha VTA tech at the next race
Yep this is your warning if your watching boys
USVTA means approved equipment only I WILL BE WATCHING

a Tekin shouldnt be ran in USVTA if you are using USVTA rules...unless he/she was given a bye by the track owner or something of that method...

The main issue is that when you allow "special" house rules you make ppl wonder and that leads to spending money....This is what I think is why the ROAR VTA races suffer. You have no idea what ppl are running. The ROAR Pav Nats should have been 3 heats deep at least for VTA. Being in the middle of USVTA country, it should have been a plenty of guys from IL alone.

but anyway...keep racing and do whats best for your track to keep ppl racing VTA. It all comes down to support...but just to clear it up, Tekin esc is NOT on the list...YET!!

and most wont see anything...if you ask 10 ppl that have done their own testing,(or say they have..lol) you will get 5 guys that says "Blinky" is all the same, the other 5 will say this is faster or smoother or more adjustments, which makes it "faster"

but this is why the USVTA esc list takes time bringing in new esc's and making sure whatever gets added, is tested by different racers and tracks to make sure its whats best for the class.

This has been hashed, rehashed, triple hashed, (begin loop here).

You know I am a fan of Tekin. Love their stuff, and when we first went to the current generation of rules, I was for allowing blinky mode speed controllers. Then that Vegas fiasco happened where the blinky mode had timing advancement. Tekin got it sorted out but it also left doubt behind as to how level the playing field would be with updatable ESC's on the list.

I could see the possibility of someone with the skills breaking the code and then all the sudden every Tekin blinky is faster than everything else.

I am still hoping Tekin will come through with an acceptable ESC. I think they may have dropped the ball on that one in spite of the teaser that Jim left in here a few weeks ago.

RC racers are fickle. If I had designed an ESC that made oodles of power out of thin air, and negated the motor and battery wars that were driving RC into the ground, I would have stopped making plain old ESC's too. Who woulda thunk that a TC racer that can figure out anti-dive roll center camber gain blah blah could not figure out a couple sliders on a computer screen.

Not bitter or anything...

So if you already own ESCs that are on the approved list, why are you so opposed to having more ESCs being tested and approved? It isn't like you would need to buy new equipment, and if it means more people can run VTA...why the complaining?

Same here. But its like watching two trains on the same track headed towards one another. You know what's going to happen but its hard not to watch.
