Thanks
I spoke with Tom Kahl (TTL) last week, he said the car was dialed on kit tires.

Today was the first time i had the chance to test the car and i must agree with RedBillfiXX that this chassis is really a plesure to drive.
I did test the car with the 380 motor and 6.6V Li-fe battery and even with this motor it's great to drive and had the speed of a tamiya stock class chassis (such as TT-01E with a sivercan motor).
But with the advantage of higher cornering speed, i was trully amazed by it's performance.
The car had the kit suplied tires on and without some tire preperation it had very good grip.
To me personal it's one of the few chassis that i drove that i'm really hoocked about it.
Definately one of my favourit cars to drive and look forward to some other tamiya body's.
I allready ordered a spare body set and 4 sets of wheels and a second kit will be ordered too
I'm really pleased by the info, tips and video of RedBullfiXX, thx.

Discussed at the TAmiya USA race today is that Tamiya is going to re-release the Porsche 956 body also. And thanks to RedBullfiXX help today, I left the TCS race with a RM01 chassis that I will run at our TCS race in May at our local carpet track and also use it as a full time 1/12 pan car in our local carpet series. Thanks to Dave, another long time TC guy coming to the dark side of pan car racing.

Do you know if that will be a standalone kit or just a body? I have an original RM Mk 5 and it's still treasured...

I left the TCS race today with one too, could have possibly been two of em.
Guess I have another chassis to run now. The other hole in the head that I didn't need but I did always want a 1/12 scale.

Hope they/we can keep it a controlled class for the most part.

Thumbs up 2012 TCS 1/12GT in the Books !

For the first time in the History of the USA TCS races, a Tamiya 12th scale class (1/12GT) made an appearance.

As one would expect, the out of box setup, kit tires, 1s 17.5 blinky BL setup, was easy to drive and fun, even on the Aliso Circuit, which is not known for it's grippy conditions with foam tires.

The RM-01 drove flawless all day, every time, no tuning, tweaking, just ear to ear grin driving

Thank you Tamiya for recognizing, and offering such a fun, low maintenance, inexpensive class for us

This class is gonna be great.

Anyone got pics of liveries with Plum Crazy Purple paint schemes for this rocket?
Silk Cut, Crown Royal...something appropriate for this class which by the way, what is the racing series name for this class?
LeMans, Class C? I don't know the differences.

The Tom's 84c, is a Group C car from the Golden Age of Prototype endurance car racing.

I really do hope Tamiya makes a TRF version of a 1/12 scale pan. I have always wondered why they don't.
