Default 14T Double gearing?

Hi!
Anyone running a motor like a 14T Double (Epic 5.0 on the endbell) from Trinity? This will be my first time running a motor like this (always ran stock) and I'd appreciate if someone would share their final drive ratio...

The track (if it doesn change) consists of only a straight (around 8-9 parking lot widths) and a pretty technical infield which is at least 3 times the length of the straight. Thanks!

Regards,
Alvin

if you go with the price of $140USin HK then that would be $210Canadian so why get it for $350 and still not TCS legal?

Cuz the guy wants to make some money on it, and you don't have to pay for shipping or duty...

$140 USD (not sure where you found this...cuz Control Centre lists it at $166 USD), but that would be closer to $220 CDN., factor in $25 for shipping, and 15% duty, you're looking at about $280-$300 Cdn.

That's besides the point...and you don't have to wiat a month or something to get it...you can have it right away.

But just support your local track (i.e. RC Champ) as without them, there is no need for our hobby...

I think control Centre has them for $186US not $166US and the shipping isn't too much maybe $15US so basically about $200US shipped to your door.

Don't forget the import fees......probably another $15-$30 and 3-4 weeks til' the kit actually arrives at your door... $215-$230, and I paid $230+tax, supported the hobbyshop I was gonna race the car at and had the car built within 22 hours of actually paying for it.......not 358-526.... wait add another 7 days for the MO to get to Hong Kong and 2-3 days for processing that's possibly 240 more hours.....heck your kids may be in college by the time you get the darned thing, well the kit will at least be outdated......

How did this break down into a discussion about getting the kit in Hong Kong.... I was only asking for setup and gearing advice!!!!! LOL...not to mention bragging!!!!! LOL

I emailed the Control Centre Guy about a potential car purchase about 5 months ago and he said that it is only, the US prices listed on the site + shipping of about $15 to Eastern US. And that's it, I doubt it would take 3/4 weeks to arrive and it is much cheaper then paying $300+ for the car. What's this import tax?? It it's bought online there is no import tax is there? only if you phisically carry it in? and if so how do they bill you, do they send you a bill or what?? Thanks for the info.

Don't you know there is no tax if you get something online?

Also 04-R cost only 150, and its gonna arrive in 4days if you pay 30. You send the money its about 2-3 days. So I would say you can get this kit for less than 200 in about a week.

You got a wrong calculation there

IMPACTPLAYR,

You bought the car, built it, then race it in less than a day?
What kind of a race is that?

I never said I built it and raced it in less than one day, I said I had it built within 22 hours of the purchase (4:00 pm Saturday-2:00pm Sunday) I did however race my TC3 on Saturday might (without much luck)

Fatdoggy- my calculations may be a little exaggerated, but how are you gonna get that MO to Hong Kong within 2-3 days?? It takes 2-3 days to get a letter from Missiori to Maryland (trust me I know) and the cost of sending a letter to Canada is 2.50...

Besides I started this thread to get a little information on gearing and possibly a set-up to try, and so far I got gearing info on a modified motor I never asked about, and a long and drawn out discussion on how much you would pay to buy a kit from Hong Kong...which I would never order anything from overseas anyhow.......I prefer to keep my money where it keeps me free, now I know a precentage of that money does go back to Japan, Taiwan, or Hong Kong, but more stays here than if I order the kit from Hong Kong........

OH an BTW if you where to order the kit right now it would be held up for a while, first at this moment very little cargo is being allowed on passenger aircraft overseas, and that is the only way cargo gets overseas unless by boat (hince 2-3 weeks shipping). Everything that comes on those planes is being inspected by customs, so there will be a hold-up just due to the amount of work our customs officers are forced to endure in the wake of last Tuesdays attacks.... AND I do know about this because I work for a company that ships alot of product overseas (Belgium, Scotland, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand...to name a few countries)

Not triing to start an arguement, just stating my reasoning.....
