Default cycling batteries ?

When I cycle I use no repeaks in my settings, a charge and then a 14sec. delay and into discharge. By doing this are my numbers better or worse than what the pack is? thanks

I am alittle confused. When i cycle, it charges once and then has a 180sec cool down time and then discharges. 14secs seems kinda fast. Your cells probably be very hot.

Need more info:

What amps do you discharged at?
14 sec delay seems to short, are the pack hot just before the discharging starts. Numbers might be worse by using only 14 sec delay as packs will be very hot. It will also depend on the amps you disharge. 30 amps is the industry standand.

Do you have matched packs? What charger are you using?

You should check the matchers website and find out the steps they use to get the numbers.

One thing to remember is...

As a pack your numbers will not be what they were as individual cells. IR will be slightly higher because of the battery bars. runtime will be slightly lower also.

Iam not overly unhappy at all with the numbers I have gotten over the years I was wondering if they were inflated or not? almost all packs fall short of there printed lables somewhat...????

This is a way bigger subject than can be questioned and answered with two lines.

First I would suggest you ask yourself what you are trying to achieve here. Without knowing this the asking "what is the best way" cannot be very well answered. I guess that you are trying to establish which cells are the best or monitoring cell performance over time.

Knowing this will give you a better basis to frame an answer.

My answer bearing all this in mind is that it doesn't matter too much (within limits) how you do discharge your cells as long as you do it the same way every time. Now it may be beneficial to do it the same as many others do it so you have a frame of reference and comparison.

I like to duplicate the matchers cycling methods as much as possible, this way I can compare my cells with the numbers on each cell.

Chris.
