Here's an option. The TC4 club racer kit sells for about $150 new. Clean TC3 rollers easily fetch close to $100 here or on the 'bay. You'd could be into a new kit for about $50! Pop in the lower priced Novak ESC/motor combo and you're still under $200.

This guy has been trying to sell a Novak 25.5 SS system. He's down to $85 for motor and ESC. - http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...-ss-combo.html

Ebay TowerHobbies and HERE is where I get TC3 & TC4 parts ... and lets not forget the LHS

You my friend are indeed correct about me over thinking things, I was not aware that TC3 parts are still available like this. After this weekend depending if the 1 deal I have in line falls through I will start going through the TC3 and start by ordering some caster blocks, front control arms and every couple weeks keep ordering parts until my parts supply is good.

Thanks for the link from RC SPEED.

Not sure what class you ran with the TC3 in the past, but dont go nuts stocking up on parts, VTA on 25.5 is slow and the huge vta bodies do a great job protecting the car.

And yes, TC3 parts are still available, only parts hard to get are 4* castor blocks and chassis. You can also get parts direct from AE HERE

Just picked up a TC4 club racer and everything for a VTA setup except battery and charger. My last car before this was a Kyosho Ultima back in '87, guess I'm about to find out how much R/C has changed in the last 25+ years that I've been out of it. This thread has been a wealth of information, I'm going to get it on the track and see what breaks before buying anything new. Anyone find a replacement for the now discontinued Parma bumper yet? Painted my first R/C body this week in over 2 decades, don't want to destroy it in one race day now

I use the NTC3 bumper, great fit for the VTA bodies.

LOL when I crash, I crash balls to the wall!! My crashes are pure awesomeness!! Seriously though, I've broken mainly caster blocks and usually go through 2-3 a month depending on track layout. Think I'll start off with a spare set of castors and front arms just in case. Been a few months since I last controlled an RC Car. I normally run 2* castor blocks.

Thanks Rojna for the help. The only way my plans change from not using the TC3 is the 1 deal I have for a ARTR TC5 pans out otherwise it's build up the TC3.

What caster blocks come standard with the kit? What gives you more steering?

Thanks, Brian

The kit comes with 0* the higher degree the more steering you get. When I last used my TC3 I ran 2* castor blocks which are still on it, 4 and 6 degree castor blocks were usually too much for me on indoor carpet tracks but were great on anything else not carpet.

That was my experience in the past.
