the fins on the side of the heatsink do nothing for the motor cooling...for one they are the wrong way around (fins should go length ways so the air can flow through them)

and cutting them off, allows more air flow around the motor and it actually aids cooling more than the heatsinks (i have a motor mount the same as gaz's..and gaz actually did it for me) and i have noticed a decrease in motor temperature

hey m8

on the tub chassis there will be less air flow to the motor mount so it may get hotter.but the twin deck chassis lets more airflow through the car, plus i have 2 much more cooling fans on the car now
anyway the cooling veins in the motor mount run vertical and for optimum cooling they would run horizontal to let cool air flow through it more swiftly
i cant think of another car with such a heafty motor mount
even though my motor mount as been made smaller ive now made more surface area for the cool air from the fans to get too

cheers gaz

ps thanks for the setup advice stephensobottka

That is what this forum is suppose to be like. You come here to get help and talk with your buddies.

For driveshafts the Team Bomber graphite one is one of the nicest I have seen. Speedtech has them and you can see what they look like. Kinda pricey but everything in this hobby is.

except your lovely trophy gals..which you get for free

yokomo also make a CF shaft for the TC4, but i heard it doesn't hold up to well in modified but is fine for stock and 19t.

The Blue alloy that you see is actually the new upper camber link mounts of the FT kit.... the lower diff cases are still made out of plastic/carbon

I paid $20 per case for mine,The only reason why I bought a set was for my NTC3,had a problem with shock towers and screws in the diff cases,It did work but they are on the heavy side.

a decent Ti will be as strong, or just a tiny bit weaker than steel but as light (or a tad heavier) than alluminium

Has anyone tried the Yokomo low friction shocks on thier TC4? Looking at pics from the Reedy it seems a few of the racers have tried them. Wondering how they fit, and which they are using (they come in Long and Short sizes) Also, how do they compare to the TRF Dampers?

Titanium is stronger than steel and lighter,Titanium is also more brittle than steel, steel will bend and for the most part Titanium will break.Titanium is also stronger than Aluminum but Aluminum is lighter.Titanium cost more because it's alot harder to work with than Aluminum.
