I don't think we have any official names.....
I ran this weekend trying the car with the dampner tubes. I'm not sold on them, but some guys liked the way the car felt with them. I felt I was faster and smoother with the dampening washers. I'll be running again Thursday night with a few more modifications to the dampening system to see if other dampner tube angles or dampening lube is more effective. The tubes may work better on a very high bite track, but this track was just changed over and not alot of traction yet. It did show signs of being faster in some spots of the track, but wasn't as consistant as the plates, and felt like the car was bogged in the middle of the turn.
There was a local guy running the other car I put togather and he ran the dampening plates, which he hates (tube guy)!!! By the end of his first battery pack he loved the way the car felt with the plates, and had his fastest runs at our track in a long time. He thought the car was smoother, and carried more corner speed. Other people noticed the car handled the same if you drove it easy into the turn or went fast into the turn and cranked the wheel. It seems overall to be more stable and reliable at low and high speeds, where the car won't dive into the turn at low speeds.

Wayne,
What setups are you using for the dampening plates? washers? lube?
What setup did you try in the tubes?
Im not a tube guy but alot of people are, most probably just because it looks trick. Im sure about 80% of it is all in our minds just like everything else in life.

I used CRC tubes with 3 different corally dampening lubes... The light seemed the best. For the dampening plates I had the stock Associated ones with a top plate that has milled pockets for dampener lube in it, best results were with Losi 100 wt. shock oil.

Clinttredway.... I have atleast 2 more weeks of testing to do... Jason will take it from there... maybe post the question on the BMI discussion thread or send Jason a PM, he'll have a better idea of how long it will take to get everything machined and ready to ship.. Sorry I couldn't give you an exact date.
JohnB... I didn't have much luck in mod. with the thick t-bar.... lost traction at the end of the race, even with pink rears... That was on a higher bite track too.
