I don't think they're "returning" from the testing days i.e. They are testing Wed/Thu ...Fri/Sat are a "public" practice and Race days, then the Nats start that following Wednesday, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure they are staying trough till the Nats start.

Got the new bulkhead mounted tonight after grinding on the chassis with the ol' Dremel. The tools that were recommended here worked like a charm, especially that thing that limits the depth of the Dremel. That thing will make itself useful many times over. I managed to start (and extinguish) a small fire when the graphite dust started burning. Good times.

I wasn't able to dump much weight to get the chassis balanced, but it did make a little difference. I've got 4 8oz weights on the right side behind the battery, and it's pretty close. We'll see how the car drives tomorrow. I can't imagine it transitioning any faster... I already feel like I have an unfair advantage being able to whip through tight areas of the track so quickly.

The new Tamale braces on the rear shock tower are really nice, especially since they're threaded. Hopefully they don't get put to the test.

And I finally pulled a 19.0 at Sydney on VRC with a 1/10th. What a night!

Is that only the 4mm chasis you have to modify with the new bulk head?What page are the dremel tools shown on?

All chassis need to be cut for the new bulkhead.

Yep they all have to be cut, the stock and 2.4 only at 1 depth -- for the motor only (the 2.4 obviously less than the stock 2.9), the 4mm at two depths, one for the countersink of the bulkhead, one for the motor. I've cut 6 chassis (2 - 4 mm, 2 - 2.9 stock and 2 - 2.4) and the bit looks all purple and nasty, but still seems to work fine on the last 2.4 I cut.

I never did pictures of the "grinding" basically the high speed bit goes in the dremel, you replace the dremel collar with that depth limiter chingadera then place the whole enchilada on your chassis, set the depth accordingly and have fun grinding away.

I dunno, I guess maybe I had the RPM too high on the Dremel. I had a little pile of dust building up when I was grinding, and it suddenly started glowing red and burning. I pulled the Dremel away real quick, and the air from it blew the dust around, and made the burning fiber dust set the towel on my table on fire. It only burned a small hole before I screamed like a girl and threw the towel in the driveway and sprayed it with a garden hose.
