Default How balanced are touring cars?

Something I've always wondered about, but never taken the time to measure, is exactly how balanced a touring car is from side to side. In other words, have any of you ever weighed all of the equipment that is typically grouped on one side of the car (servo, receiver, esc, motor and transponder) and compared that number to the weight of a six cell pack? How close are they? Obviously, this will vary some depending on the electronic equipment you're using, which makes me wonder if the trend toward smaller electronics will contribute to a car being more off balance.

you need to put the car on a tweak station and add weight to the car to balance it out, ive got about 40 grams in my tc3, this helps balance it out and make min weight requirments, but the weight is placed were its needed not just put anywhere,

So you're saying that with your TC3 the battery is approximately 40 grams heavier than the electronics you're using? Just want to clarify.

it is easy enough to measure if you have 4 kitchen scales,

just put one wheel of the car on each scale and then you can calculate the weight distribution,

not actually weighed them indivdually but thats what it took to balance the car out. some of the tc3 drivers at my track also have about the same weight in their cars as (like you say) we all run real small electrics now!! you can feel the difference between the car with out the balance weight's and with. it is all down to how small the electrics are getting and how big the cells are getting!!
now you need to balance the car,

hope this helps

Not always entirely that simple especially with shaft drive, for instance I am sure I read on this site that HPI designers designed the pro4 so the extra weight of the battery counters the torque steer caused by the twisting of the motor and shaft, though they still do use weights to balance them out a bit
