Onboard motor fan/cooler?
I have been seeing pics of pro drivers' cars with add-on fans placed infront of the motor endbell. Does anyone know how this gets wired up and what is a good type of fan to use? Is this just a total do-it-yourself mod or does someone make a kit?

some make them their self's ,but the most popular one appear's to be the reedy heatsink/fan combo, which is avaliable at most hobby shops

I've seen the fan leads both soldered on the motor and connected to any receiver channel.....
I bought a 5volts fan (35x35mm) on www.digikey.com ....the unit blows 5,2cfm......
I'm waiting for delivery and i'll test the fan directly on the endbell.....

You either add a small 12 scale reciver pack to power it or like I do. get futaba, or what ever radio you use connectors at the hobby store and build it and install it into an open port!
Reedy does sell one already assembled for like 20 or 30 dollars!

when wired to the motor....Even just the slightest pull of the trigger and my fan was at full speed.....at first I had it pluged into the reciever but waiting for several minutes before the start of the race with the fan running full speed Just diddn't seem right.... but I guess, with the capacity of cells nowadays, it probably wont make too much difference
