How tight should my front and rear belts be right now my front belt is a little loose and the rear it seems a little tight.

On 17.5 I run mine as loose as I can without having the belt slip.

Seems a little late and pointless since the 418 is coming out at the end of the year....

I don't think it is. Should be perfect for the ones like myself that wouldn't want to pay 600+ for the latest and greatest when the 418 comes out. I might give it a try

I agree. This is cheaper and easier than the raceberry setup...why not?

I'm gonna get the 418 but keeping 417 just in case the 418 doesn't turn out to be so great.

From Smokem: The 417V7 conversion set includes:
- Top Deck
- Motor Mount
- Layshaft Mount
- Centre Post

The conversion set if a straight fit for the 417V5. All other 417 versions will need 1mm shims (not included) to attach the upper deck to the front and rear bulkheads. Price for the 417V7 conversion set is US$74.95. Spare 417V7 upper decks are also available for US$24.95. We will begin shipping on Friday September 6.

For 2 conversions, registered airmail and handling is US$9. EMS Express Shipping is also available for US$24 and this takes roughly 2-4 days to reach the US.

The Smokem conversion works great guys, a few of us tested this and like it more than the raceberry conversion! And works with all standard Tamiya parts!
