What is the difference on the new motor mount?

My friend told me that it is lighter. Although it may be because it doesn't include the centre brace that is missing (he was told by a Tamiya rep at the model show).

Honestly, it is part gimmick, part necessity for the worlds.
Typically it is claimed that Emulsion (aeration) shocks promote more traction and handle bumps better.
However, In all the experiments that I did running on-road and offroad, I found the most grip and best bump handling came from soft bladders and drilled shock caps. In the past, when we used to not drill shock caps, then emulsion shocks were better.
I read in several places that Jilles used them for increased traction, since they ran no additives, this probably is the explanation.
Now why is Tamiya offering it like this? It's just the way they have always done it from what I remember. It seems that every so often, when they release their cars, they are replicas that commemorate some big event win. Last big one was the Worlds and this car is equipped with what JG ran. Next version, they might go back to bladders, who knows.

Hi All,
What do you mean by emulsion shocks? Having a hole in the top cap?
Thanks.

The 417X manual says 1XA for the rear-front, 1C for the front-rear, so that would mean 54172 & 54174 respectively. Note that the split mounts are 2-in-1 (except for the 1X ones).
Various TRF team setup sheets use different blocks. In boosted 17.5, I run 1 degree less rear toe...
