I'll let you know tomorrow when my TC6 gets here if the diffs are even close to the TC5 but from my understanding the TC6 is a lot different than the TC5 in that respect. The bulkheads are supposed to be more narrow but a gear diff should need more clearence so where they mount to the car might be a little wider. I'll take mesurements when I get everything togeather
Edit: yes I know the car doesn't come with gear diffs but it stands to reason that if the Ball diff will fit the gear diff should as well since they go in the same space

Hey guys... I am looking for a good starting spot for a medium size/medium bite carpet track. This track is next to an offroad track(both indoors) so it tends to get a little dusty at times.
Sweep OG Spec is the spec tire w/ Paragon Ground Effects as the only allowed traction compound.
Looking at the Associated website, most of the carpet setups are 10-12 months old... and prior to the arrival/use of gear diffs in the car. Im open to using either the ball or gear rear diff, but was wondering it anyone has a good baseline for me.
Thanks

For medium bite carpet, 0B arm mounts all around seem to be pretty easy to drive. Silver spring front, green rear. Long link in front, hole 7 in the rear. Fairly neutral and with OG Sweeps this will help with traction. A friend of mine runs basically this setup but with blue springs up front to keep the car flat.
I thought hole 7 was the long link, though?

Geard diffs
Hey guys,
Just thought I'd chime in here regarding the diff oil discreptancies you guys have been talking about.
One of the reasons why you are seeing setups with 1000...and some with 30-40 is because the AE gear diff internals are different than the spec r internals, resulting in a different feel with the same oil.
This was done in part so that the range of oils needed for the diff could more closely coincide with the oils used in the shocks... so you don't need to carry around 30-50 in 2.5 wt increments for your shocks, and then 80-90-100/1000Cst, 1250 cst, etc for the diffs.
When using the spec r gear diffs, most of the guys seem to run oil near the 1000 cst mark... when using the AE gear diff, it seems like most guys are running 30-35.
Hope this helps clear things up!

Just one more thing: someone from Associated mailed me that there wasn't going to be an Associated geardiff for the TC6. You say "when using the AE geardiff". So there is a AE geardiff for TC6 afterall? I am somewhat confused now.

Yes there will be an AE gear diff, the team drivers already use the prototype.

If you are talking about TC6 SpecR, no it won't, TC6 spacing between bulkheads is much narrower, but then, SpecR might have one that fits the TC5 from another brand, just like Yokomo's fits the TC6 with a little work.
I heard that maybe the Tamiya might fit, but it is to be confirmed by someone who actually did it. It looks like the TC5 is fairly wide, after it is a question of ballraces and dogbone lengh and blade spacing.
