I just ordered an XERUN V2.1 90A to run in 17.5 TC, no blinky. I'm sure I'll be back here looking for setup tips. After days and weeks of research it looked like Hobbywing was the way to go for ESCs. I've used Novak and Castle ESCs for many years but I wanted in on all the boost and timing!!

@ Angelo (cobraracing) : only the last question : for a 8.5T which of 2 setup i must to use?
ESC timing will generate less heat than endbell timing.
boost setting adds timing throughout the range - turbo after boost at full throttle.
so boost 30 turbo 20 in theory would give you more top on the straight(provided it is long enough), but a little less on the infield.
40 boost will give more on the infield but with turbo 10 you may lose top end on the straight.
with 21.5 we found running 64 boost worked the best, but keep an eye on the temps, fdr around 5.0

]Brushless ESC V1.1_120511_beta ( I have a v3)
When I plug in my 2 in 1 into my esc into my esc it says v 1.11_120311_v3 (looks like I am running an outdated version of the software).
When I plug it into my pc I have the option for
V3.1_121129_Beta
or
1.1120526_Beta
I dont see anything about "508" or V1.1_120511_beta anywhere.
The esc does meet all profile/light requirements and is in "blinky mode 2" as stated on roars page.
Where do I find the V1.1_120511_beta software?
Please help.

1.11_120311_v3 is installed in my esc (old software)..I have "blinky" mode.
The latest Roar approved software is V1.1_120511_beta.
The only other software I can install on my pulldown from my pc is V3.1_121129_Beta...Not Roar approved (correct me if I am wrong).
I am having a few issues like drag brake all the time (when it's turned off)
and lack of overall brakes in stock.
V3.1_121129_Beta-I am told fixes this issue...but it's not legal software...right?
Where can I find the V1.1_120511_beta software so I can be legal for the upcoming roar nats?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure why that option was taken off the V3.2 software, unless the latest is in the pipeline to be approved.
Oh, and you can install both to your computer, just install to a different folder (change the name of the defaults).
As a side note, if you had installed the latest software to the ESC, then it's a bit of an issue... as at the moment, I can't see a way to downgrade back to the V1.1_120511_beta, without using the V3.1 '526' software, that was never officially released.

I just pulled up some of the older software versions on my PC, the V3.1 808 software I have does have a V1.1_120511_beta software in it... so, you need to download this software.

The box 2n1 reads the older version....but the pc connection shows the newer (version on the pulldown). If I do have the newer software installed I would assume it would show up on the program box?.
I was trying to find the legal version of the software lastnight so I downloaded the only version I could find on the falcon web page (I did not see anything like the links you sent me)..and may have installed in the esc.
If I did install it..and I can't "rollback" to roar approved software..I will need to toss this esc for the Nats.
Hopefully..if I did...there is a way to downgrade back to the older software (or sombody can send me that 526 software). If not...thats crazy and should not be on the webpage (or at least some sort of warning you are locked to the software).
Thanks for the links...and your time.
I will check them out later today.

In terms of rolling back, I've already let Angelo know about this problem, and he's going to get onto the HW factory. Honestly should t be too much of an issue to fix (a case of just enabling the approved 511 esc software in the latest database).
Btw, ygpm.

with a stock motor you normally need the timing to come in early ie boost.
All I can say is try it and measure the temps.
We have done this and found
Motor timing = most heat
boost = less heat
turbo = between the two
Remember though you do not always need to add all the available ESC timing, there is sometimes a point where you get the maximum benefit of the timing adding more does not increase speed or acceleration but just adds heat.
Also the rate the boost and or turbo is added makes a big difference, too much too soon = heat
