2s lipo for 1/12 pan /wgt class?
#16
well the only decent onroad in my area is a big outdoor 1/8 nitro track and i have the stupid idea of trying to make my rc12r5 keep up with those cars, stuck in my head, even though my driving skills are barely enough to keep up with a 5 year old with a radioshack something or cr@p. to make it even worse i have a tekin RSpro and a tekin 2.5 (hey, there are some drag racing guys in town too so WTH not). and the last fly on the turd is this 2s 3100 maxamps lipo that fits just soo damn well in the car but i dont think it has the current rating to handle it.
anyways,do you think i should just buy a 1s lipo for the 17.5 i have and learn to drive? any other suggestions as far as what i should do?
i still think 2s with some really slow motors would be the way to go. then again i put my 17.5 on 2s and it was almost as fast as my 2.5 b/c that was all my driving skills could handle.
DAMN YOU SPEED ADDICTION!!!!!

It is fun to race with others running the same, but.
As your skills improve it may become less fun than a 13.5 1S.
Any motor can be fun if there are many drivers to compete with on the same equipment though.

First you will have to see what classes they have there. It is no fun driving something on your own.
A 2.5t brushles is way too much. A 2.5t-3.5t aren't really designed to run 2s lipo. And with 2s you can't get the rollout for it in a pancar that easy. The rollout would be to low and you will get problems with spurs and tires (most mod drivers run minimal 4.5t or 7 t delta because of runtime and rollout issues).
The 2s lipo you have is too small for 2.5t You should at least have 5000 or more for 5minutes. (even then it will be drained between 4 and 5 minute mark)
On a 1/8 gastrack 2s lipo and 17.5t should be ok for beginners. That is the beginners class overhere anyway. There is a lot of asfalt area to use on a 1/8 gas track . I would start driving that. i personaly would not buy a 1s lipo as it will be greatly underpowerd on a 1/8 gastrack and you will have to use boosters or other stuff as well. You skills will improve rapidly when driving frequently and the 1s lipo would be redundand soon.
