FUN RACE- Run what ya brung!
Hey guys,
These past 3 to 4 pages have been very good reading. I love this stuff. Keep up the good work!
But, seriously I think this is probably what will happen for TCS. I imagine Fred will implement Spec motor, spec tires, spec battery and spec bodies!
Whether it be regionals or Nationals. If he didn't I'd be very surprised!
The fun races I think can be slightly tweeked not like the motors we ran.
Hahahahaha! Just kidding. Maybe add 21.5 brushless with tweeked silver can that was suggested. That's will work. I know a lot of us have Brushless ESC's just sitting in our garage and 17.5 and 13.5 Novak motors that can be exchanged for 21.5's, so to keep costs down. Just have Fred do that and see what the next fun race brings, then go from there based on the results of that race.
I love the fact that Fred ran a fun race that basically said run what you brung race which was very cost effective. Some racers had Sorex some had old CS27, some had Muchmore tires and bodies of every style were out there with whatever battery you wanted to run. I think keeping this in mind for the racers will continue to make this class popular. Once you start making too many changes too soon will start costing us money and that is not good. Once again, run what you have and have fun!
I still had a great time with everybody even a certain friend who took me out on the last lap even after I passed him cleanly! Not to mention names (IZZZY) you hack! Just kidding again.
Keep up the chatter!
Just my 2$

Just leaving this in here, I'm sure you guys could apprieciate when bodyshells looked ''proper''. I found it on eBay and won the auction, a Tamiya Ford Mondeo with a custom made ''BTCC Cavalier'' decal set.
OK, the chassis is a TT01 but I'll be picking up an FF03 to put it on soon.

I wonder what wheelbase the Civic body will use?
Not that it matters anymore, but I doubt the Civic will look very scale sitting next to a Volvo 850 or Alfa 156 if it uses the longer wheelbase settings. That picture almost makes it look like an M-chassis.
In other news, I should be getting my FF-03 this week. Anxiously watching for the mail man....

That Civic is sure to look tall on the track though. Quite an odd release in my view, it's not a JDM model, and it's not particularly well liked in Europe.

i hate when people try make bodies something they are not....
earlier in the thread some body posted a mazda 6 that had some kinda half assed chevy cruze sticker kit on it too...
i have been trying to find a mondeo body that i could afford since everyone seems to think they are worth $200 on ebay and then i see this one destroyed.

I agree. There are so many cool FWD cars that could be released using this chassis. It would be a bit difficult, I guess, given the M-chassis has some of the cars that should be on the FF-03, but have been scaled down to fit the M.
Anyone have suggestions for Tamiya, just in case they're reading this thread?
Mine would be the WTCC Cruze, Seat (I think it was fwd), the Ford Fiesta R2, Renaultsport Clio Cup, Golf IV kit car, or more of the late 90's BTCC and rally bodies to be re-released.

And this is my favorite
this is a good page for all the older 1998 cars
