I just put the gearbox together and ther fit and quality seem fine. Good mesh .. no issues at all.

Obviously racing will determine if they are up to it. Possibly the top shaft gear might wear quicker than the steel one from Tamiya ... but I alway have the alloy 3 Racing one spare

Maybe we should highlite if these are TCS or non TCS comments?
Mine are all non TCS as that series does not run here (well there is some sort of Tamiya series)

How is the fit of this top-axle compared to the Tamiya stock one?
(Stock has way play/ up-down in the bb)

The up and down play is marginally better with the 3 Racing part. They cant have no movement as it would be jammed in the bearing and would distort the bearing.

The worst part is the plastic spur holder . Instant replacement

Been runnin mine hard for a few weeks now. Hours of runtime.
No rebuilds yet.

All original parts thru out the diff, plastic outdrives and spur holder.

Dogbones no CVDs. ( been keepin AW grease on the ends but the axle end of the bones are showin wear, metal on metal )

No issues.
Expecting the idler to die but nothing so far.

Never let the diff slip since day one, no slip, no heat, no problem.
Still smooth.

If it slips it dies, it's not a clutch. Fast guy showed me this a long time ago.
He's still a fast guy.
Works for me.

Hey Zilla dude, got a Tamiya body for rent for this weekend?
This Civic thing just aint gonna fly and my option body is HPI.
I'll only scratch it up a little.

Fred, any chance since it is a "Fun" race that you will let some 21.5 brushless combos run for the sake of comparison?
I know some guys have em in their cars and can honestly say that they will not be running away from the "super" silver cans out there.
This was demonstrated on Saturday.

Just sayin.

Kit Civic body came with no wing.

It'll work but the winged cars will kick it's butt.
My winged bodies are HPI right now, had em already and they destroy the Civic on corner speed.

Don't have enough time, patience or skill to get the Civic to go fast.
Taped a wing to it once and it was an instant performer tho. Not TCS legal.

Speaking of spec.r, perhaps we will see a gear diff for the FF03?

Yeah, this will help a lot with both issues on a lot of the current Brushless Motors. Opens a new avenue for those who already have brushless motors, for a reasonable cost..

add some weight at the back to increase downforce or use a clear wing lol so no one can see it from far away
