Rules for 2010 ROAR Electric On-Road Paved Nats at NorCal Hobbies
#17
Mod for me this year. Time to strap the raw power in!

Too bad this rule wasn't in affect during the carpet nats. Good to see the rule change

ROAR is heading in the right direction. This should help out those that struggled with software based tweaks (at a club level and beginners). And others that were blowing up stock motors...hehe

We get it, you're full of yourself and want everyone to acknowledge your opinion, we get it .

this makes me feel good inside.
sure, it can be picked apart, but this is as close to a 'win' as we're going to get.
novice class? check. (and it's just been made simpler).
competitive spec class? check. (have at it motor/esc lovers).
open class? check. (drop it in, and man up on your wheel).in time, the particulars may need to change, but the general layout is solid. two spec classes, separated by speed and complexity, and an open class for the men.
again, it may not be perfect for YOU, but it's a sensible move on ROAR's part. kudos. (maybe we've turned the corner ....)

You can still run your 13.5 in the open class. With the current boosted speed controls it should be close to 8.5, although you'll be stressing parts more than going to a true open motor.
