LRP SXX StockSpec ESC

Hi,
Tried these setting tonight indoors,
X12 13.5t motor (-10deg)
FDR: 6.56
Feel: 4
Boost: 6
I put the feel upto 6 as I wanted a more punch. Speedo shut down twice as motor hit 120deg
so I then geared up to 7.47 was alot better but motor temp was still in the 80's with a fan. I then tried gearing up more to 8.02 had a bit better punch in field but motor temp was still in the 80's
what should I do now, gear up even more or get a better fan with heatsink and then try more punch ?
Thanks.

I'm going to try boost on #3 and gear it for a lower temp then try adding more boost.
Thanks.

how hot should the esc be running?
im reading the manual and all it has is the temp chart (1flash, 2 flash, 3flash 10 flash shutdown, etc)
how many flash is ideal to be running at?
i know the motor shouldnt be at 160-175f
any damage if running the motor or esc temp lower
ALSO, i dont understand the manual temp.
it says 'count the number of flashes. The higher the number, the hotter'
then the chart shows
1 - 45c
2 - 40c
3 - 35c..
the temp getting lower as the flash increase,

Just wondering if anyone that had the V2 upgrade done to their SXXSS from the MK3 version has had a chance to run it with some of the problematic motors of the past. The 17.5 Orions and the Duo1's and 2's had cogging issues........is this fixed now. (Syndrome have you done any testing ???)

2. There is no ideal temp you just do not want it to overheat. Most normal operation you should only see 1-2 flashes.
3. What the manual is refering to is how many degrees away from thermal shutdown you are. Example 2 flashes means you are 40C away from shutdown. This would mean that the speed control reached 60C during operation. 100C is the shutdown point, I believe.

this may sound dumb
can having a good esc dramatically effect the performance and longevity of a car?? im running some very old hardware on my rs4 and thinking of getting a new esc... is it worth spending $200+ on a esc to get better performance? im mainly looking for throttle control and longer running time.

1. Depends on the motor you are running and how hot it is where you are running. Normal temps for SCs are 120-150F externally. SCs tend to get hotter inside and do not always transfer that heat out. That is why the flashing light system is more accurate.
