anyways
the kit is finally pretty much done (other than the shocks which im going to have someone do for me) but upon making the servo saver i jacked up a ball cup so i improvised with a ball joint and i made sure it was still at the 57mm length as is the other side and i think this might be the problem but the servo saver is rubbing the bulkhead in the right side, the side with the cut out, maybe i measured poorly and they arent 57mm or something but i cant figure it out, and also just by like spot hooking them to the balls it appears the wheels are not going to be straight either so idk

To answer in short, yes the 05 is better than the 04, why else would xray bring it out???

It seems to many that the FK 05 is a much more stable on the track than the 04, it is more predictable, has a lower CG, and appparently better drive efficieny, although the 04 still has one of the best out there.

The other thing, out of the box the 04 will beat the 05, but dial up the 05 and say bye bye to the 04.

Regards, DIMO

I can still hold my own with my 04FK,I race on a 40 x 80 carpet track and I do beat my share of 05FK's.I do have a few hop ups on my Xray,BMI 350 chassis, alum. hubs front and rear.It rocks on carpet with foams and i dont think a car can be any more stable..I guess it could be but i dont think it matters..

I'd suggest disregarding the lengths and use a setup station to get the wheels straight. Here's a link for building shocks when your ready:

The faster corner speeds of the 05 are definitely noticeable. The steering input is much less in order to carve up chicanes as well. I had my XRC 04 setup well enough to win a few stock A mains. But after a buddy of mine went from a BMI 04 to a stock 05, it was hard work trying to make up the speed he had gained mid corner. So I quite naturally jumped on the bandwagon and acquired an 05 after selling a rib or two to scrape up enough funds. He was an average B main driver before. But his lap times dropped immediately from 12.5's to 12.1's. The 05 seems to accelerate harder out of the corners as well.
