Guys,

I picked up an xray T3 EU in which I plan to run in a 17.5 rubber sedan class. Local track is medium size, semi high traction carpet.

Are there any areas of concern with the durability of the car? Also, assuming the car is completely stock, what is a safe gearing recommendaton to at least get me in the ballpark with tekin RS?

Thanks,

Car is solid but like anything will break if you hit it hard enough.

Boosted around 6.4
Non boosted (stock spec) around 4.2

Yes, many

Advantage, We break less parts! Disadvantage some say weight, I'll take the extra weight over added protection.

I'd say you have one of the most durable kits out there .. but nothing is perfect.

I would put 3mm setscrews in the rear uprights (the unused holes) to add a little strength for the outer camber link if you have not done so already.

Also, be gentle with the outer camber link screws all around the car, if you change shims enough times you might strip them, so don't over tighten.

Keeps the front arms intact in a big hit.

No downside that I can think of. Weighs similar to stock bumper.

+1

I use the Xray Impact Absorbing Front Bumper and the Parma T2 Ultimate Bumper. Highly recommended.

I use the impact absorbing front bumper as well. The only real negative is that it can get deformed and start dragging fairly easily so you'll have to watch for that and bend it up. Someone suggested I use a heat gun to pre bend it up a bit, something I still haven't done but intend to.

the HARD bumper weighs 20g heavier than the stock bumper....
the upside....better front grip and does not bend...it does break other cars that come in contact with it though....
i also got some top racing pin sleeves in the standard cvd's which work a treat and there is no need to use of a grub screw (thanks ant)

Default Good carpet base setup?

Hey guys,

I looked through the forum and cannot find a good rubber base setup for a T3 EU for carpet.

Any suggestions?

Put the stock setup on it. It works well.

blade072 - more weight in front does not mean more front end grip. Actually means more rear end grip.

Interesting.. Would you mind explaining how that works theoretically?

more weight on either end means more weight to transfer to the other end ex.more weight on front means on acceleration more wight is transferd to the rear=more rear grip, more weight on the rear means on braking or deceleration more weight is tranferd to the front=more stearing
hope that helps
