I just wish they would have used a forward/brake ESC (so it would be legal for competition), and a stock motor (because new buyers will have to buy a stock motor to race....

Ling:

Yes, and no...hahahahah

I should have mine in a week or two...and, I'm sure it won't be a problem to let you try it!!!

Kansasracer: you can also use the kit-included washers that were once used in the shocks....the little white ones. As someone noted, you might need to trim a bit off of one of them for bulkhead clearance.

Default Bearings

What is everybody using to clean their bearings? I have the bearing blaster but i was wondering if there is something better out there.

I remember seeing an article in one of the RC magazines that was a dish and you hooked it up to batteries so it vibrated and cleaned the bearings better. Does anyone know of this one or a better way to clean them?

thanks....

You might be talking about the integy sparkle. It's a little vibrating tray for parts. Ultra sonic jewelry washers are about the same thing.

I use a RPM bearing blaster with my favourite motor cleaner, then I'll put a little of trinity bearing oil (the best I've seen, instead, is branded by big T)

You are describing a jewelry cleaner. It cleans due to high frequency vibration. I don't used them. I saw one at the shop and the price is sky high (not talking of the cleaning fluid, who is a water based degreaser) I prefeer to use my Bearing blaster.

Corse > That is my current method, but i wanted to see what everyone else is doing. It seems the bearing blaster does not get out all the dirt, and i was thinkin go soaking them for a while and see what happens.

Any other suggestions of what people are doing to clean your bearings?

If the bearings are sealed, why bother cleaning them?

You're supposed to clean the bearings???

Just kidding. Actually, I take the seals out of my bearings, flush out all the grease, and add a few drops of bearing oil. Some people have said "you'll ruin your bearings" and "they'll only last a race or two". Well, I have had the same set in there since March, and I race pretty much every weekend. I have only had the bearings out twice. I flushed them out an re-oiled them and they have been good to go. I race on a permanent ashpalt track that is swept and blown off before racing. This may not work on dirty tracks or unswept carpet tracks.

But, it does make a noticible improvement in the way the car runs. I don't have any actual lap time numbers to give you, but it was noticibly faster. Same motor/gearing/batteries/esc as before I did it.
