Thanks in advance for any tips.
You can shim it I generally leave about 1 mm how ever the rotor will find it centre while running. I have got motor with no movement at al and removed a shim to allow for heat expansion

Did some testing at our local track today, tried 2 different MMM 13.5 motors and was quite dissapointed with the results.
Both motors used the same FDR and boost settings but one was miles ahead in terms of top end speed compared to the other. should I expect such a big difference between motors?

I have experienced the same thing with the V3 motors. My first two SP V3 17.5T motors were really different. One had to be geared around 6.5 FDR and the other I could gear around 5.0 with no issues.

Actually I tried doing the FDR 5.0 on the first one, and it died. But the other one were going strong with low temps and more power.

What would you estimated a good range of fdr would ne for me to get pinions? I was thinking like a 5.0 through 6.0 to start? Im buying all fresh gear this season and using the v3 17.5 boosted touring. Oh...anyone know any pinion that are cheaper that $5 each?

when your working out your gearing just check your temps and turn on your thermal cut off once your happy with you can then turn it off again.

i have found that with my V3 i am 4.2 FDR and my MMM 6.5 FDR both 17.5 boosted

yeah we saw this with ETS , there was some cheating b#%^rds buying 100 motors and 100 speedos then picking the quickest combo !!!!!

He was found to be cheating at the last ETS and was removed from the rankings.

BUT i have dyno'd a lot of my own motors and position of the end bell makes a huge differance , the end bell can go on 3 places and i moved it round untill i got the best RPM's this made a differance of 5000 RPM on some V3 motors , Also shim the rotor towards the sensor , at higher revs the rotor will move away from the sensor and you can get missed senses on the motor , tis drops the revs down slightly.

This is the world of 0 timing / fixed gearing we are in now in Europe
