Yes teh Hobbywing lcd programmer works on the SP esc's.
I have both programmers and no difference.
One stays in my pit bag and the other in my workshop.

You mean that SP software and Hobbywing are the same?

I guess they are the same, I have both software and they do work on either SP or Hobbywing esc. Having said that I think HW has the latest firmware for the esc if I m not mistaken its 323T.

SP has their own versions of the software, and I believe other hardware differences, just because they both "work" doesn't mean the fets are the same and other components.

cant say if teh software is exactly the same but the version numbers on some of the Hobbywing software is the same as in the SP software.
I have SP and Hobbywing esc's and have been told supposedly there is a hardware difference but havent expereinced any difference between them.
Still running the Hobbywing software to gauge a difference compared to the SP versions.
Seems the SP software versions is what is preferred by the factory drivers.

There's also 'factory drivers' software not available to general users. I have their 'stock spec' software which works really well with stock motors. But its not released coz it can blow a modified motor. I'm no factory driver though. Just managed to persuade someone to share it with me...

Hey,

Believe it or not, but factory drivers use the same Profiles as you guys do, Nothing Special, all the updates and different profiles can be updated using the LCD Program Card.

At the moment i am running 205G which is working well for me. I'm Sure most Other Speed Passion drivers are using this, or the kit setting, which is 303A (I think)

Ryan.

Is it possible to run another capacitor instead of the stock one? I have a novak HV capacitor, and I am thinking of using that instead since the stock cap for the GT2.0 since I can't get a nice mounting location in my 1/10 buggy for the stock cap. Just need to know if it will work ok, or, do I need to use a specific speed passion cap.

If the install is tight, you can use an SP SuperCap - very thin and easy to mount cleanly.

The Novak HV cap would be OK Cain, but watch it's temperature. It shouldn't be any warmer than the ESC itself. If it is warmer - use something better.
