The MS is out of stock: http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-tam...cPath=420_1167

Every place that lists it for $400 is out of stock from what I can find.

Have you sent an email to the folks at RC Champ?

What happened with your hopped up TA05? Didn't do it for you?

Yeah $471 with RC Champ. But they do have it in stock. I liked the TA05 a lot. I just moved away from it to try something else. There is something about that light blue color that draws you back in though. LOL.

A bit more but it's $490 total since it includes ground shipping from the OC and it's in stock.

Towards the end of last year i decided for abit of a joke to buy a shaft drive car as a challenge to see if i could get one to go fast around my local track in the new 17.5bl class there. I managed to get hold of a cheap hpi pro4 and on my first race meeting with it i equalled the 27t track record and would of improved on it in the next heat but launched the car off the back of the little hill at the track doh! to sum it up the car had good punch off the corners and i did not notice any torque steer what so ever, one thing i will add though this was on a tight techinal track with a fairly short straight so might benefit a shaft car more than say on a big open track.

Yeah the fact that it can get up to speed faster is definately going to give an advantage on a tight technical track. I wonder if the effeciency of the drivetrain would allow you to gear higher and give you an advantage on a wide open track?

I've been racing a friend xxx-s in ta the last few weeks. Al though I am still thing about blowing the dust off the old yokomo sd ssg/cgm. Car was really good the last time I ran it.. In 2004 lol.. Was thinking about selling it. But not sure yet.. Either way I do believe the shft will be the way to go. The way the come out of the corner is un real. At least mine is that way to me..lol

to me, the most ideal layout as far as motor and batt goes, is the Losi JRXS type-R. Too bad the drive train becomes a bit complex though. But that chassis won the snowbirds transam class right?

Shaft cars such as the EVO5 have a tendency to roll due to the absence of the reverse gyro effect from the motor armature. To compensate this, the chassis uses a higher roll center and shorter arms such that as displayed in the TB03. I use this in the TA class and keeps up with the much lighter CF chassis cars for podium finish.

I would also think that torque steer should not be such an issue with the smaller rotating mass of BL armatures.

Hmmm Tower just lowered their price to $491 for the Evo V MS. General lack of availability and people slashing prices all point to that car being discontinued but I emailed Tamiya USA and they say that's not the case. I hope that is true! Two of the HK vendors told me they can no longer get the car from Tamiya. Not sure if they meant ever or right now.

How's the drivetrain complex? its like every other TC, but the belts at spaced out wider. Its not like its an E4 or anything.
