I am using the SMC Lightning 4000 28c as well as an Orion 4800 30c. I use a strip of velcro on the top of the lipo and on the bottom of the strap. I have not had any problems with them falling out. (I also have a strip of lead weights on the outside of the packs to balance the car)

Just pick what ever you like. Most, if not all of the standard lipos will fit.

I'm using the Orion 3600's, some guys are using the Reedy 500's and others are using various SMC packs around here. I don't think any are any better than the next, just which one you may like more, or has more availablity locally.
