As far as I know, drag brakes, coast brakes and automatic brakes are the same thing. That is, a degree of braking is activated when the throttle is at the neutral position. It is supposed to help with steering because it facilitates weight transfer to the front. Secondly you can keep the gas for longer before you coast neutral into a bend.

I am currently a Quatum Competition. The default automatic brakes are set at ZERO. I'm very interested in experimenting with this parameter. But for starters, does anyone actually use this function on their ESC's?

auto brakes as it says in the instruction manual for the nosram is exellent.I use it in max(#5value).It makes the car have more off throttle steer so much so that i hardly ever brake for a corner!

I use it on my LRP v7.1. However, I've set it at zero, because I'm running a one-way.

Hey why do you use brakes i never used brakes and i just have some forward roll and then i won't slow down as much because w/out the forward roll and have it at sero i think i slow down to much and i just can't drive like that.

It's about driving style. And advantage of slight braking before the corners, is that weight transfers to the front, thus gaining extra front-traction, means more steering. Personally, I find just loosing the throttle a little, gains enough steering.
