Internal shock limiters

Internal shock limiters
Can someone please explain the theory behind them. When would you want to use them and what are the effects.

with this method you can limit the droop. but it only make sense if your car has no droop limiters in the wishbone.

some say, shocks work better if the pistons dont bottom out all the way, but tamiya trf shocks have short shafts with not much space under the pistons. Other shocks Ive seen(yokomo associated etc) have internal spacers. i personally dont feel much difference, but im no pro.

No more input here?

jonas_h pretty much summed it up. an internal limiter has the same effect as droop screws on the chassis, execpt droop screws are much easier to adjust

I used internal limiters on my Losi cars a few years ago. Was a pain to make adjustments via trial and error. Much prefer using droop screws.
