Oh another thing.... The Reedy quad mags liek the brush hoods to be aligned straight across from each other. So dont bother aligning each individual hood so the brush wears in the center. When you align the brush hoods straight across from each other the brushes kinda tick back a bit and reduce the timing about 1-2 degrees. The quad mag seems to favor this for some reason, dont ask me why lol.

You should never narrow the brush on a large comm motor like the Reedy Quad.....

The best setup we have found with these motors is 767 with Purple/Red, with sometimes tweaking the purple to be inbetween a red and purple....

The hoods should be aligned across from each other, as like Korey said, it will retard the timing 1-2 degrees (heh, where did you learn that Korey???)

And while a Reedy quad will start at .350.....it will be around .345 or so before its round, they comm pretty coned from Japan....


And we use no such dye or markers to denote polarity on the motors....

KOMODO DRAGON COMING IN FEBRUARY


The Komodo Dragon is the latest 19 turn spec motor from Trinity. The Komodo uses the Chameleon 2 motor can but features a new armature design which meets all ROAR specs for 19 turn motors.

The Komodo armature was designed to work in conjunction with the new high voltage batteries from Intellect and GP.

The Komodo Dragon features a broader power band and more overall power than the Chameleon 2 making it faster lap for lap especially in heavy touring cars. Like our new Co27 stock the notable difference is the way the motor carries more speed through the turns.

Trinity was the company that invented the 19 turn motor and wrote all the rules for the class with the original Chameleon. The Komodo now raises the bar even further.

The Komodo comes in both standard and "Pro" versions.

The Komodo Pro is ready for racing. The motor is built from the ground up at Trinity by our technicians. The bearings are aligned and the magnets are charged to full capacity. The endbell hardware is perfectly aligned and sized for correct brush fit.

Armatures are checked for shaft straightness. The armatures are then checked for inductance with an LCR meter. This makes sure the armatures have good wire to commutator contact for the lowest resistance. Balancing is checked and finally the commutator is diamond trued for perfect brush contact.

Assembly is done with the latest "hot" brush and spring combinations for 19 turn motors. The motors are broken in then Dyno'ed. Brushes and springs are tweaked at this point if necessary. The dyno sticker is applied to the motor so you can see the specs when you buy it.

All that is left is for you to put it in your car and go out and win!

Hi all
I need a little help finding the right 9teen. I have move to Colorado Springs and they do not currently have an electric class and I am hopeing to get it started. The racers here run 1/10 and 1/8 gas so the track will be designed with them in mind ( flowing and fast) Thay said stock would be to slow and recommended 9teen turn for the class. Which motor do you guys suggest?

2. Has any one tried a V2 endbell on the Reedy 19 quad yet, is this a good combo?

you might want to use more of a mod, like a 8 turn or brushless.

No, i am trying to keep cost down,plus my two boy (8 & 10) will also be racing. the Club said we must have 4 cars to start a class. my family will be bringing 3 and there is some interest from some other members. Thanks for the reply thou.

TMHippo. I have tried modifying a V2 endbell to work on a Quad Mag, and it sucked. The V2 brush hoods have to be dremeled out slightly because of the large diameter comm on the Quad Mag. Not to mention that the spring retention system is a pain to work with. Not to knock the design, but I think more refinement needs to be done in my opinion. Maybe use a treaded nut like the Checkpoint motors do. Speaking of ........

has anyone tried the new integy 19t motor? the one with the angled brush hoods? from the specs thoes look like they will be really good ?

They take forever to break in and the dyno does not show any better results than other 19t's on the market.

*We played with the angled brush hood for the Stock EVO30 Motor to try and get a jump on what to expect*.

The Z zone however shows impressive Torque and RPM's. I should know more after this weekend as I have a driver thats gonna do some testing on them.

As always the track is the best Dyno though. I am having the angled motor tested as well.. We have them all in Stock and will know more in a week on results.
