Motor timing =
Boost = 45
Start RPM = approx 5000
End RPM = approx 18,000
Turbo = max
Turbo ramp = 2
Delay = 0.8

After a 5 minute run on a hot day i'm temping around 70 deg C, and the car pulls hard all day long.

I could gear-up, but I have plenty of in-field punch which I like. Racers are won and lost in the corners
That's right.
And that is also the big advantage over the other speedo's. Because of the high top speed you can gear lighter and have more infield speed than the others. As the top speed is the same as the others, you will win a lot in the infield and that is the place were you want to win the most.

What is your motor timing?

The speed is about the same with slightly different gearing, but the LRP is noticeably hotter than the other 2 motors.

I wouldn't mind giving the redline tekin a try. It should pair up very well with the tekin RS/Pro.
It also looks very good with the speedo
It's a very nice combo.
They told me that the X12 is not that popular in Germany because of the head and that it isn't that reliable. i don't now if it is true but I now from club members that head is a big issue. The ones that had one have already sold them again or bought an other motor.
But the X12 is fast and will go very good if geared and as it is used with the right setup on the speedo. Than the head stays lower.

Track is large and technical with an 80 metre front straight. Car is an absolute screamer.

Great work, congratulations to whomever did it. I used to race at the track there. Still have the old YR4 with its battlescars. I guess it's about as big as the old track?

Tekin 17.5 Rollout

running 60.2mmpr (2.37") on 2s

motor temp is circa 160f

car doesn't feel or look as quick as the others on the track

lap times are mid 12's laps

is it under or over geared

don't have a Tekin esc though

this video is a typical layout

You basically answered your own question.

Really, though -- what ESC are you running? What timing profile? These things have way more effect on how you need to gear than the motor does.
