Looking forward to getting a Hotwire to play around with the settings a bit more.
what brand 4.5 was it?

Marcos I have the RS unit. It has a 5 turn limit. I normally don't run mod. Looks like Mo is the one to talk to about that. Jeff could you share what your final settings were running the 10.5. Really interested about how much timing advance can be run before heat problems developed.

The RS Pro performed great this weekend at the Reedy Race. I qualified and finished 10th in the mod sedan A main.

I'm looking to pick up an RS or RS pro speedo in the next few weeks. Has anyone noticed any real performance advantages with a specific 13.5 or 17.5 motor? (ie. is the Novak better than Orion or LRP when running this speedo) or is there really no difference in motors right now?

so i had three days of testing the RS Pro, and it thermaled once after 5:20 with a Vortex 2008 4.0T geared 7.6 FDR. ESC temp 230F, ambient temps around 75F, motor temps between 170 and 190F. no fan at the moment. I will mount a fan and try again :-)

what I'm worried about is some strange performance behavior of the ESC. After about 1 minute of racing, the car slows down noticeable (no, its not the battery), could that be caused by the thermal issue?

My setup: 5-cell TC, two caps, drag brake 10, throttle profile 4, limiter off, fwd/brk brushless, default timing. just finished my fan installation and will post pics asap.

Other than that, how will increasing timing (to lets say 18 for the 4.0T, 12 was the default) affect performance?

Just tested my RS PRO and I'm so happy I bought this speedo. Its really nice. Love how small it is and how easy it is to set up. My Speed Passion 13.5 seems alive now...I have better braking and more punch with this system and everything runs cooler as well, which is really nice. Very happy so far. Never tried Tekin products before and I'm already sold on this one.

I think you're over geared or over timed. Either go a couple teeth less and try a 8.2-8.3 FDR, or lower the timing.

Anyone noticed the real time sensor check leds? The top 3 leds light up (dimly) relative to the sensors. Roll the motor slowly and you will see them moving. You can also see them go out in dual mode under throttle or stay on if in sensored only mode. Very cool!
