It was an observation.. not a flame.

I am family budget guy, so I dont own any state of the art stuff.. Everything I get is a generation old.

You know the guy that always buys the used Pinto (have to be over 30 to know what I am talking about)

Anywho.. very good.. never let it be said that Associated cant look at everything everyone else is doing.. copy it.. and do it better for cheaper or just buy them out (J-concepts)

( I own B3, T2, 2 TC3s) lol

I'm under thirty and know exactly what you're talking about with the Pinto.

The TC5 sounds like a good fit for you. And there are lots of them for sale right now.

Ok, so they did ok in Mod. I was just referring to the fact it was not the over all winning car at Snowbird. I was in no way slamming the car, just some put a lot of how a car is by how well it did in a major race.

If it does I will move on. I don't see it happening anytime soon, but you never know.

CRAP? i think not, but you have to look at the amount of them sold..

Hands down this is the cheapest TC on the market. It comes far better equipt them most other pro level TC. Simply put the market is flooded with them so you will see more of them sold used... Kind of why you see hundreds of neons on the used car lots.(ok really bad comparison the neon POS but you get the picture they are dirt cheap)

When the TC3 was current i used to cell my to buy a fresh one every year because it was cheaper to sell the car and buy a new one then overhaul the old car.

Theres is nothing wrong with the TC5, I just ran mine today after being out of TC for almost a year. The car was by no means really setup but still did very good.

That being said I will probably being going back to XRAY in the next few weeks. My reasons are not based on the car being bad (TC5) but rather I have been offered a really good deal on 2 007's, spare parts and all setup gear required.

If the xray deal had not been offered I would have been keeping the car.

I can assure you AE didn't buy us out (JConcepts). The B44 was a joint effort between two very seperate companies.

Default umm

first off ... team associated is not american made , thunder tiger ownes team associated and they are made overseas (not in japan) second... I was a hard core team associated lover (since the original rc10) after getting back into it with the tc4 FT and the rc18b I will never buy an associated product again...(garbage)
The TC5 is ok for club level racing (so i hear) but every one where i race that has bought one sells it (fast) Sure it is cheaper than a corally or an xray but is no way near the quality of chassis (not even close) and its only like 100.00 less... not to mention what you will have to do to (and spend) make it competitive ...(not worth the frustration IMO)
AE spends alot of money on advertising ... I dont see many corally adds or xray... and AE has been around alot longer ? go figure...
The TC5 is just a copy of ideas from both the Xray and Corally with no inovative changes to improve upon . the last competetive car AE built was the TC3, then they sold and quality has been un-improved from then...there chassis materials and components are about 6 years behind
