well i read that thing on team orions web site and am still confused. can someone just explain caster in simple terms? i know what the castor block is. i am not worried about front castor because that is easy to adjust. i am just worried about what rear castor is and how to adjust it.

thanks for helping me out guys.

Well....in the rear of the car there is not a 'castor' setting. But there is something called 'squat', or should i say "anti-squat"....this setting is found in the relative angle of the lower a-arm to that of the ground. The only way that i have found to be able to adjust this on the wonderful PRO3 is through a little custom machining of the rear toe/hinge-pin blocks that were before mentioned in another post.

They call it "anti-squat" because of the up/down loads (squat) that are eliminated. In other words, the next time you run your car and give it full throttle from a stand till, you will notice that the rear end will sag (the sag is what is called squat); the "anit-squat" setting reduces that sag.

Anti-squat also helps the rear suspension to soak up some of the bumps while going down the road. (If you look at the front end of most off-road buggies, you will notice the angle of the front a-arms. They have that extreme angle partly because of the brutal bumps and ruts on the track; to help soak up/lessen the impacts.)

hope this helps...

hey thanks guys for all of your help...i finally figured it out. i now have 8* of caster. i just ordered 1 full set of spare arms, my upper deck from HB, and some more shock oils. next i need to get tires, and batteries. right now i only got 1 3000 pack and 1 2000 pack. i am going to sell the 3000 and get a few 2400's so i can race. i also ordered a new speedo(gm v4) i will tell you how my car goes when i get it to the track.

later guys

To increase anti-squat?...hmmm..not sure, but try to just filp the block upside-down...I tried it just to see if it was possible when i first got my wonderful PRO3, and if i remember right, i think it did just that...

carpet nats were insane......everyone was there.....It was like a Cleveland race or a Reedy tc race......

all of us from the Seattle area did real good to, including a national championship in stock sedan......the top 20 in mod sedan were all factory rides except Andrew Cartwright from Seattle finished 13th.....He beat guys like Todd Hodge from Losi and Billy Easton.....Andrews the man!!!!

Chris Tossolini won Mod sedan and Josh Cyrul won 12th mod.....

Seattles own Travis Schreven won stock sedan and Brett Sisley was second also from Seattle......

Hpi didnt do good at all, they need to get some more good american drivers, if they can...
