Anyone have any close up pictures of their 125r's with all the electronics and batteries installed???
I've finished building mine and now I'm installing all the electronics. Having a hard time deciding which way all the wires and components should go/sit...
I have an LRP SPX, spektrun SR3500, and a LRP 13.5t X11 motor. I am also installing a Novak Smart Booster... anyone else running this? Any suggestions on how and where to mount the smart booster???
Any help and suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Any piictures would surelyhelp too!!
I can't wait to get this thing running!!!

Anybody running crc rubber? I have been playing with tires latley and have a problem with the crc rears. I cant get the rear skinnier than 173mm. I would have to shave the left hub .020 to get it to 172mm or am I missing somthing? No shims on the left and 3 on right. The track width is even left to right but just too wide. Maybe a skinnier left side hub?

I bought a Gen X used off here and it had a carbon fiber wide bumper, however, Im unsure of who made it. A foam bumper will not withstand my driving skills.

I use this one. It's a direct fit, just cut/sand down to fit the profile of the body you are running.

Just an FYI for you gram counters, the smaller CRC foam bumper is 6 grams compared to 12 for the wide bumper.

I agree but I was racing at a track with pvc pipe and if I barely clipped the pipe on the front it would just hang the body and go up under the pipe. With this bumper no more hanging on the pipe and the body lasted much longer. CRC makes a shorter one too but for club racing I tend to like the wide.
For a big race I would probably go with a bit less front bumper. Although the car still weights 731g with the trued tires. 473g with new.

Here's a tip I found to get various thickness spacers for use in adjusting shock travel in the center shock. The standard spacer is 4mm. I happen to prefer a 2.5 to 3 mm spacer. So I use pieces of antenna cut to length. To do this I make a guillotine using an aluminum spacer the same thickness as my desired spacer thickness. I set the spacer vertically on my pit table and close off one end of the hole in the spacer with my droop gauge (any hard flat surface will do) Then I place the end of the antenna tube on the other end of the spacer and use an Exacto to slice down on the tube, and Viola! A 3 mm internal shock spacer. If you're really organized like me you make each .5 mm length out of a different color tube and keep several of each size on a small container. The main reason I do this to allow the shock to compress completely without creating excessive rear pod droop.

That's a good tip Andrew... now I need to buy more antena tubes.

8511 FT Lower Pod Plate
4608 FT RC12R5 Hub (brushless)
4609 RC12R5 Thrust Cone (brushless)
The RC12R5.1 used the wide brushless rear pod so if you have a box-stock RC12R5 you will need these parts also. Otherwise the graphite shock mount and the motor mount standoff will not fit. Offcoarse, if you use a thrust bearing like the Slapmaster you won't need the Thrust Cone but that would be obvious I guess...
I have the T-plate conversion for the RC12R5 and for this 12th scale season I am going to convert that chassis to a 5.1 rearpod WITH T-plate. I have to custom make a new lower pod plate but that won't be a problem. When it's done I will show you guys some pictures...
Joost.
